On this very day, TWENTY years ago, I wrote this at the end of a long journal entry. I was writing about how frustrating it was to date for so long and not find the right person for me. *Eight days later*, I met the man I’ve been spectacularly happily married to for 17 years. Don’t give up. ❤️

Imagine that *every morning* you woke up to more news that people you care about had been killed or were in danger of being killed. And the folks who are slaughtering them had been encouraged to do so by some of your friends and family and your fellow citizens. That's what it feels like these days.

As an early childhood teacher, I have dedicated more than 30 years inspiring kids to become kind, empathetic, compassionate adults. Yet every time I read the news these days, it seems like the bullies are winning. Folks who humiliate, steal, lie and exclude are taking the lead. How do we fix this?
