#NowWatching The Straight Story - David Lynch (1999) Not watched this in years & forgotten how serene and moving it is. Reminds me of Miyazaki, with unhurried scenes of rural life, work & landscape, as well as moments of elderly wisdom. Richard Farnsworth is incredible. No Rammstein, but hey...

Excited to tuck into this Trilogy of Tibbetts - great condition and picked up for a very reasonable price from Out of Time Records, Norwich, this afternoon.

#NowPlaying The most joyful of the 'Ambient' series. Busy with crystalline sound - so probably not ambient? Regardless, incredibly beautiful and reflective.

About one third of the way into Michael Powell's autobiography and absolutely loving it. The descriptions of his childhood years living on a hop farm in Kent are beautifully evocative. He's like an old charmer, recounting tales over a bitter in some oak-panelled Soho boozer.

#NowPlaying Bobby Hutcherson- Montara (1975) "When you think about music, it's got to be that way. Just the thrill of being able to play another note, not to win anything or get a trophy" - Bobby Hutcherson

#NowPlaying Don Cherry - Complete Communion "Nowadays, you can bring the whole world into one room, and this capacity for unity is an element that jazz has always had for me." - Don Cherry

#NowPlaying "That’s what it’s really all about—it’s how you feel, not how much money you make or how popular it is, in this kind of music I play." - Freddie Hubbard, 1973
