We know from the Gospels the actions toward "the least of these" among us that Jesus expects from those he chooses to save: i.e., care for the hungry, thirsty, strangers, poor, sick, and imprisoned. Approving of Trump's ruthless policies will get you disqualified.

We know from the Beatitudes the kinds of people in the world whom God blesses. They sure don't sound like Republicans.

I bet right now China is thinking about huge changes to trade policy. By opening up markets to our key partners, China could effectively cut the U.S. out of the supply chain. Maybe even deal in Euros not dollars. "Trump is crazy. By cooperating with China, you can eliminate that headache." Payback!

The Constitution--like the Dec. of Inde. before it--makes a moral statement. But Trump, with SCOTUS' complicity, uses it for immoral purposes.

Trump's oft-mentioned "Uncle at MIT" would flunk Dumb Donald in Economics, Finance, Math, Government, International Relations, Logic, and Ethics.

Any 8th grader turning in a 2 page paper on tariffs and trade explained in Trump's terms would get an F.

Supremely immoral, Trump has unleashed America's worst impulses. We must fight fire with fire despite the danger of conflagration. We should "go high" only for the tactical advantage it gives in raining hell down on the devils below.

None of us are defending foreign gang members accused of unpecified crimes in the U.S. We are defending Constitutional guarantees about ascertaining the validity of crimes alleged. In general, it's not about gangs but Trump's trampling of the Constitution.
