Last couple days of our #ttrpg store in the Byward Market! Appreciate all who have come out, and all who helped make it possible.
This afternoon they'll be a bunch of RPG designers, writers and publishers networking and talking pitching games. See you round.
Stopped in to visit @joshuakitz.bsky.social’s pop-up in downtown Ottawa today. It’s open through the rest of August. I’m chuffed to see my projects alongside some local greats.
I cannot stress enough: the AI bubble has already popped
it is just being kept on life support by corporations trying to squeeze even a dollar more out of their shit investment, and tech bros doing the same before abandoning their shit company startups.
keep hating on AI, you're winning

Hi Bsky, it's my birthday! A great present is for fine folks like you to leave reviews of RPG books on the marketplace I run. composedreamgames.com/marketplace/ (Canada)
or composedreamgames.co.uk (UK)
You can also share your review here. Both I and our 80+ publishers would appreciate it!
I 100% have not changed a single goddamn thing about how I write here in the age of "AI." I write how I write. If the "AI" writes anything like how I write, it's because it stole from me. I'm gonna use any punctuation I like, and if it looks "AI"ish to you, you can go fuck yourself.
I *love* it when rooms on a map link to the pages they’re described on. I found that especially tricky to implement but it was rewarding once I figured it out.
A short piece on the power of hyperlinks this week.
If you're designing for digital and not using them, you're leaving one of your format's greatest strengths on the table.

Lena by @qntm.org came up in conversation over brunch with friends today. It remains one of the most unsettling pieces of short fiction I can remember. qntm.org/mmacevedo
Unpopular decisions make stock prices go up. Successful art leads to firings. AI is in everything and data centers are going up everywhere. Welcome to the Because Fuck You, That's Why economy.

I’ve looked into trying to make the print-on-demand format work at @rpg-trader.bsky.social for my mid-sized booklet module, but I can’t get the economics to work out. Lulu (their printer) isn’t a spot I’ve used before. It looks like it’s meant for much larger, perfect bound titles.
I keep a list of those shops on the Itch page, as well as new RPG Trader listing. DriveThruRPG doesn’t allow external links, and I’ve not yet put my newer stuff there. rpg-trader.com/products/150...
I’m happy with the filters, page layout, and other store features at RPG Trader. I think larger rulebooks could be a great fit for POD, but the booklets and pamphlets from Mothership’s giant third-party community aren’t compatible with the POD options there right now.

Emergence is a 32-page saddle stitched booklet, and I put some work into the layout to give @chaoclypse.bsky.social’s amazing illustrations the room they needed for maximum impact. So the book is quite colourful. The official print version sells for US$20, I think POD should be less.
Unfortunately, Lulu’s print cost is high enough that the margin on selling it (with PDFs) would have a lower margin than the digital-only version. Even with a compromised print quality.
If you want this kind of module from me, the online retailers kind enough to list my work are still the best bet.
The newest TTRPG marketplace, @rpg-trader.bsky.social, is now live! As part of the launch celebration, pick up all three of my Mothership modules in a discounted bundle, now through the rest of June.

I joined in! My adventures are part of the launch sale on @rpg-trader.bsky.social. It was definitely the easiest to set up of the marketplaces I’ve joined. I like that I can use a GIF for shop logo.
I've been digging through the whole Organ Failure sister zine to Flatline on the Blocks, and that adventure is a banger. The whole zine is a trip. I can't wait to bring this to a table.
My adventure in this is pretty sick nasty mean. It's basically just a Violence adventure in the style of Glass Men as much as it's anything Mothership. Heist from a high-end spa! Potentially end an evil mega rich sicko scumfuck!
41% of 2026 is over. So far, I’ve had 49 ttrpg sessions. Some stats:
- I gm’d 20%
- 47% in 1 of 5 campaigns
- 30% at 1 of 3 conventions
- 19 systems
- Most frequent: Mothership (20%), Forbidden Lands (16%), Classic Traveller (12%)
- 10 systems played once
I’d love to reach 100 sessions by year-end!
I just ran a Classic Traveller mash-up session of Demon Driven to the Maw by @bradkerr.net x Decagone by @wacomatrixo.bsky.social, and it went about as crazy as it sounds.
Saying "It may be helpful to understand how union representation works:" before proceeding to spread old lies about how union representation works is unfortunately both crazy and very predictable.
