Me (entering a room seeing both felines lying on the floor): Who are the world's best two kitties? <two seconds later> Character on series my wife was watching: C'mon everybody hates cats. Coincidence or #Caturday miracle?

GW Bush: "I found him (Putin) to be very straightforward and trustworthy. We had a very good dialogue. I was able to get a sense of his soul; a man deeply committed to his country and the best interests of his country" John McCain: "When I look Putin in the eye, I see a 'K' a 'G' and a 'B.'

WITKOFF TO PUTIN (yes, that Putin): “You talk so much about Trump being a humanitarian — you are a humanitarian also, sir. I salute that. I commend you.” 🤯 we are so cooked. Russia was never a hoax.

I had a Facebook account, though left when I learned about the scale of the Facebook/Cambridge Analytica scandal. I deleted my account and never went back. I never had an Instagram (or Threads) account. The best time for you to delete your Meta accounts is right now. They #ZuckOff

Senator Chris Van Hollen@vanhollen.senate.gov

Unacceptable. Meta took down the No Kings Instagram today and kept it offline for well over an hour. Censoring free speech to appease Donald Trump? We the people deserve answers, but regardless, we will not be silenced.

(Circa 2022) She: If you're bringing a sandwich, carrots and an apple, why do you need to pack a fork? Me: In case somebody brings me cheesecake. --------------------------- Any guesses as to what was on my desk when I arrived at work on Monday?

I haven't watched any candidate debates this election year. I probably won't, either because they always let me down because no moderator has the guts to ask “How many licks does it take to get to the center of a Tootsie Pop?”

The makers of Easy-Off should get busy developing an oven cleaner that will eradicate AI worms.

The most indebted corporations in America right now are, at their core, computer virus companies. They think the computer viruses are their girlfriends, so they think this absolves them of guilt. Let's find out!

I don't have access to traditional cable channels, though watched the Sox/Guardians game on TBS, via HBO app (or whatever it's called now). Speaking as a washed-up ad agency guy... I kept seeing the same 3 or 4 ads over and over (and over) for three 1/2 hours. Is AI doing media buys?

How much does it cost to make Crudités?

When they lied about policy or statistics repeatedly or tried to shift blame elsewhere they fooled a lot of gullible people. But when they started lying about things that even the cult knows more about than these out of touch weirdos, that’s when they lost the plot.

1/2 I paid very little to Donald Trump for decades (I never saw The Apprentice) but something I noted during the 2016 his claims that: •He was the best baseball in the state of NY and •He was invited to tryout with the Giants "alongside Willie McCovey."

Willie McCovey, 1972 @sfgiants.com #Baseball

2/2 Uh when Trump was in HS..."Stretch" McCovey had already been in NL for several seasons, had been Rookie of the Year and an All-Star. Trump who was 70 in 2026 was telling the kind of lies a 3rd grader tells about their grandfather.

There was a phrase that the Reagan Administration popularized, that apparently was originally a Russian proverb. Regardless of the origin story, "Trust, but verify." is solid advice this time of year.

Nothing proves that the current Middle East War is a smashing success more than POTUS musing that he might annihilate Iran "after the election."

What if the US military went from the most professional org in the world to a complete joke?

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Hegseth: "Today, at my direction, I'm establishing the Office of Religious Affairs. It will report straight to the top -- a direct line to the secretary ... as Psalm 33:12 extolls us, blessed is the nation in which God is the Lord"

Gobsmacked by the elite levels of not knowing ball in the Senate today, thinking an NBA team is called the Hawkeyes then, refusing to Google it, then accusing a guy of treason because you didn’t know the Iowa Lady Hawkeyes aren’t in the NBA. Somehow I don’t trust these people to Save Girls Sports.

861 wounded 19 dead Administration has misled (aka "lied about") troop casualties in the Iran War. Any member of Congress that isn't pushing for Senate/House Defense Committee investigations, and/or impeachment should be required to remove their "We Support The Troops" bumper-stickers.

Me (leading a staff meeting): Are there any questions? All Attendees: Are those dog treats, or cat treats in that bag on the counter? #Caturday

But we all agree that it's OK to brink an order of spare ribs to an interview, right?

Kai Ryssdal@kairyssdal.bsky.social

I’m sorry, but if you bring an iced coffee - or any damn beverage at all - to a job interview, you’re disqualified. It’s not hard, people.

Can’t eat a sandwich until you subscribe to sandwiches. Can’t eat today’s sandwich until it has applied daily sandwich updates. Sandwich now has adverts even though you paid for ad-free sandwich. Can pay again to have less sandwich adverts. Now you can eat the sandwich, but it’s smaller.

Earlier I was tormented by constant low-volume rhythm. It was maddening. Fretting that it was a plumbing or HVAC issue, I began slowly walking around the basement. Eventually, I noticed the source, lying my on my adjustable desk, and I exclaimed: “It is the ticking of my hideous analog watch!”
