At the other end, Jay Errington got the lads back into the game, Bayley Hester transformed the attack when he came on at half time, and Cam Gascoigne got the equaliser, even though Stevie Wonder disagreed and called it an own goal.

Man of the Match Ben Milburn was immense, and that goal of his will live long in the memory. Plus he expertly framed his celebration: framed by the net, ball to the right, gutted defenders to the left. The lad's a professional.

And talking of pros, we welcomed a legend back to the physio's spot on the bench. For a final shot, I tried something arty with the sun and the Stan Army.

A few goalscoring opportunities here; I managed to get most of the squad in the background of the third one. Always nice to get a puff of soil too. Plus, was that a penalty?

Loan signing Mitch Parkinson got to test out the stretchy shirts for the first time. I'll enjoy shooting him looking down at people over the next few games. Then another of those ones where the lads look like they're watching a UFO landing, and Connor Walker shaping up to nut the ball goalwards

It’s starting to feel like @heatonstan.bsky.social are living in a permanent Halloween nightmare what with the injury list being longer than a very long thing. Then we had to visit Blyth Spartans in so much fog it was difficult to find the ground let alone watch the game. Anyway, some shots

Yes, the graininess of the photos is the fog! Dan Lister yelling, Shep doing a Karate Kid and Andy Mac keeping his eyes out for a birthday cake amidst the fog

I like the atmosphere in the one of Alex here, then Connor Walker sprouting from a Spartan armpit and Cyril lashing in the Stan’s goal. And that’s it for semi-decent ones. The rest will be on the club website soon, so you can see precisely how foggy it was

My favourites from the day: Gazza climbing high and making sure his opposite number does t muscle his way in; sweat pours off Shep’s head; and supporters react to a first half miss

One of the West lads mid-“oh my god” exclamation at a curious referring decision, then Alex Fil with his saintly halo intact, and debutant Dan Kemp twisting away from some pressure

But these two shots sum up the night. Dan Savage rues a missed chance, and Andy McBryde thinking about his post-match debriefing. See you tomorrow!

Captain Shep was a bit puzzled by West’s giant mascot, who showed some interesting moves while dancing to the prematch music. Then the returning Sado Djalo goes for goal and nuts a peach of the cross for the Stan’s goal

And finally, an #arty one of the sum breaking through the clouds. Sadly, it didn't herald a new dawn for the Stan. But at least I got a decent footballer-with-a-ball-for-a-heed, so the day wasn't completely without success

I like this one of the follicularly challenged defender pretending he didn’t know what he was doing as Leighton shot past him. As you can see from the other shots, it was very dark at Craik Park
