I hope Maga are happy to pay the half-billion it's going to cost them and everyone else to finish trump's ballroom. I really hope it isn't finished before he is. Then he'll never get to strut around, sorry, shamble around in it.

Literally an endless, bottomless well of hypocrisy from GOP, so a bit futile. But still. It's OK for the US to openly attempt to recruit people to betray Cuba towards an actual overthrow, but there's outrage at the idea of Canada talking to people in the US about future trade deals?

After trump, in the next two decades or so to come, will the US ever be trusted and have the standing it had before? Assuming the usual mix of dem/gop swapping the presidency.

A message to the evangelical trump voters: you are betraying your faith and the beliefs you claim to live by. trump is a proven adulterer, fraudster, and sexual predator. Supporting racial hatred, violence against others, and adoring trump who portrayed himself as Jesus - are not Christian values.

trump acts with impunity because SCOTUS gave him a pass, he can't be re-elected anyway, and he will pardon himself for everything. Only Congress can stop the megalomania. The GOP has shown it will not. Vote for an alternative.

Maga (and Reform in the UK) people are ignorant cultists so the irony will be lost on them. For years they have talked of a cabal of 'elites' running everything. Now they have enabled them, and venerate them. The very thing they despised and worried about. Racism is a powerful thing.

Musk puts 1bn into Ellison's Skydance (bought Paramount). Of course he did. Why don't the small group of billionaires just club together and run whatever media and other corporations they want and whichever governments they want. Stop hiding.

trump has a way of casually issuing directives off-the-cuff. As if he is THE Law and no-one else has a say. Sadly, MAGA can see that but slavishly believe he knows best and are willing to give up democracy to him. If only a good guy had been given the power instead. See the trap there Frodo?

The polls and much of the media proclaim a blue wave. Again. Don't be fooled. Many GOP voters are embarrassed to reveal their intentions. Turnout may be better than portrayed.

If you are not racist, why vote for one. If you don't favour corruption, why vote for it. If you don't like incompetence, why vote for it. If you intend to vote Reform in the UK, why?

Migrants aren't burning France, and the riots are not about migration. Ukraine isn't responsible for oil prices, that would be the war with Iran. If voters choose to use those excuses to vote GOP, there is no excuse. They are what they seem to be, x3.

Another day, a different excuse. Trump tests various excuses for his actions. The ballroom, needed for pomp and ceremony, becomes a security need. The arch, for triumphalism, becomes a military post. Halting Russian sanctions, for the economy, becomes a peace negotiation tactic.

The demise of trump will not come from any single scandal. Like any insulated emperor his thoughts are widely inappropriate and irrelevant to the public. Live executions, focused on gilded palaces, delusions of popularity, false claims of victories in foreign lands.. . The people are moving on.

trump had choices on oil. Immediately agree terms with Iran similar to those outlined (Obama) Pressure Russia/aid Ukraine to end the war. Subsidise fuel costs with taxes on wealth and mega-corps or tariff income 😉 Buy from Russia, helping Putin and his war with Ukraine Decisions, decisions.

If Ukraine steps up its attacks on Russian oil facilities, and trump wants to buy Russian oil, doesn't that mean an effective proxy conflict between the US and Ukraine?

Bessent asks: where has socialism worked? Hard to say because most places that try it are attacked and sanctioned by the West. Cuba might be doing OK if not blockaded for decades for no good reason.

Surprise, surprise. CNN’s analysis found that Republicans have been quicker to adopt AI in political ads than their Democratic opponents. About 96% of the spending on ads that disclosed AI use came from GOP campaigns or groups. edition.cnn.com/2026/10/02/p...

edition.cnn.comAI blurs lines in campaign ads: ‘People are seeing things that didn’t happen’ | CNN PoliticsPolitical campaigns and groups are spending tens of millions of dollars on ads that employ AI, often without disclosing that they’re using it.

An enlightening but deeply disappointing moment when I ventured a couple of opinions, not controversial but you could certainly argue with them. Then found within 5 mins that the 'nice' left-leaning (as am I) bluesky community was as rabid, unreasonable, and abusive as the right-wing a**holes on X.

The richest man owns X. The second and fourth richest men control Google. The third richest man owns The Washington Post. The sixth richest man owns Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp. And now the seventh richest could soon take over both Paramount and Warner Bros. See the problem here?

Ron and Cassie DeSantis: These two crooks stole $10 million from a settlement with a charity, wired it to Cassie’s fake “charity,” laundered it through two puppet organizations, and then used it for political ads in an election year. They should be in jail.

How humiliating that, after claiming victory so often, trump is now turning to economics to try and eventually defeat Iran. All he's shown is the limit of military power. Look at conflicts around the world and how they get bogged down. Why is there always an appetite by some for war.
