"We are losing investors on this particular slide. It doesn't work. We tried several vendors, but realized that actually only you can solve this". Nice former clients. We solved)

What a giant leap forward would medical communication field make if the pharma MSL departments learned how to comment on the actual video animatics instead of screenshot PDFs in Veeva.

Discussing a video transition with the team. A colleague: - OK, so this could be like the wardrobe scene in Narnia, where the camera moves through a bunch of fur coats or something—except this isn’t Narnia, it’s a colorectal cancer biopsy.

Importance of thoughtful art-direction. Long time ago we did a 2D animation about some "omics" approaches in oncology. And these were our visuals for the human body and inner organs. If you don't see anything unusual, disturbing, or funny - good for you, you are probably a nice person!

Cool!

Long-timescale simulations reveal multi-ion flux through wide pore gap junction channels -– and an unexpected transition involving loop–NT domain interactions that suggest a dynamic ensemble of micro-states define the “open” channel www.biorxiv.org/content/10.6...

We recently finished a nice series of animations for the amazing team at Kalohexis. Not every project starts with a fascinating 40-minute lecture from the client’s Chief Medical and Science Officer :)

Very promising company, it was really nice working with them.

Each year, we highlight companies that received sizeable early-stage funding in the previous year. Trogenix's platform for generating ‘synthetic super-enhancers’ could drive highly cell-specific gene therapy-based treatment of solid tumors such as glioblastoma www.nature.com/articles/s41...

Nice to see how much well-deserved attention daraxonrasib receives at ASCO. I remember it as a small 3D model file called RMC-6236.

Oncologists and researchers at the ASCO 2026 conference give a standing ovation after the experimental drug daraxonrasib nearly doubles survival in a metastatic pancreatic cancer trial! #AGoodPlace Source: www.reddit.com/r/Damnthatsi...

Super cool.

Excited to share this paper from @yiechanglin.bsky.social showing how lipids can move between bacterial membranes along the bridge like protein TamB. Also happy to be able to post the cool movie. 🎥🌟 #MDsimulations #StructuralBiology doi.org/10.1016/j.bp...

Had an absolutely amazing university class reunion in Dusseldorf this weekend. So happy to see all the friends who now work in academia, biotech, pharma, education, and science communication all over Europe.

A funny mistake we made recently. We were animating some hormone metabolism and made the hormone molecules float freely in the cytoplasm. Then, right before the final animatic, we realized that the hormones we were working with were lipophilic. So...

A fired public-health official, a mosquito breeder and a baby with a smile seen around the world. These are just a few of the people who shaped science this year and were chosen for Nature’s 10. 🧪

As a person who participated in the protests that failed I have to say that these people better be ready to show up when this will really matter in 3,5 years from now. Show up, stand, and not go away.

As a biomedical illustrator, I don't like Tregs because you never know how to color-code them. Like, are they good? Are they bad? Are they immunity, or part of TME? Always complex color-coding decisions that end up in brown-ish green in 90% of cases.

This is so cool. Sperm whales are probably the most amaizing animals on Earth.

I get that the news cycle is packed right now, but I just heard from a colleague at the Smithsonian that this is fully a GIANT SQUID BEING EATEN BY A SPERM WHALE and it’s possibly the first ever confirmed video according to a friend at NOAA 10 YEAR OLD ME IS LOSING HER MIND (a thread 🧵)

Have to admit, even brilliant Western actors are not very good in expressing what is called a "resting slavic face".

"Performance-wise, Jude Law is a surprisingly effective Putin, getting the President’s pout to perfection, and giving him a slightly abrasive Estuary English accent." 🤔 deadline.com/2025/08/wiza...

What a great reference for 3D modeling.

I might be a bit obsessed with blood vessels in the brain 🤓! Aren't they pretty? And check the red blood cells inside the small ones! Is it okay if I keep advertising our call for papers using more images of blood vessels in the brain? 😜🔬 #dementia #WomenInStem With @natureportfolio.nature.com

While I agree that the pups aren't true dire wolves, I still find this to be exciting and interesting news. I enjoyed working with the Colossal team on the short animations, which they featured on their website and in the video about the project.

I cried when I first listened to Khlyvnyuk singing this song. A man of amazing talent and courage. I was a fan of his band Boombox some 15 years ago. The Kiffness is ok, but I wouldn’t put it as the song released by him. He just rode the wave of the moment. The tragic and horrible moment.

In a great collaboration with @hummerlab.bsky.social and the Kräusslich lab: HIV capsid doesn't break at the NPC; instead, it cracks open the NPC itself! Details in Cell: authors.elsevier.com/sd/article/S... @mpibp.bsky.social @uniheidelberg.bsky.social A thread below:

I wrote 15 different scripts in about a couple of weeks mostly on hematology, oncology, and NGS. That’s on top of managing several projects that are already in production. I’m exhausted and very much looking forward to holidays already.

OpenOrganelle is a repo of #CellBiology data, segmented from electron #microscopy at #HHMIJanelia by Aubrey Weigel and the CellMap team, the Saalfeld lab ( @herrsaalffeld.sky.social) and the Hess lab. Here's a macrophage cell, rendered with #Blender driven by neuVid (helpful for more than neurons).
