Today I received a pen from a representative of a major American defence / space manufacturer as a gift. It is a really nice pen. I will never take it to my office or any sensitive location.

This is why democracy matters: political power must be distributed, never to be concentrated. No single person or even a single political party should have the authority to start a war beyond defence against direct aggression. Not without a public debate and a vote by the people.

I'm not certain if EU will survive the next ten years without great harm, given the strong far-right political tendencies in Germany, France and Poland. As a Finn I think Nordic countries should move towards deeper alliance, just in case. It would strengthen EU & NATO, and would also survive alone.

The United States are threatening EU with dire consequences if SpaceX is not allowed to use certain desired frequency ranges, because Musk threw a hissy fit about it. Now imagine that same situation if SpaceX had been allowed to form a stranglehold over EU's broadband services. Refuse SpaceX.

This is a dead #Ukrainian toddler, and seeing this breaks my heart, and it should break yours, too. #Russia did this. The #USA supported this. The rest of the world did not do enough to prevent this. Be angry.

Impeachment is just the first step to accountability

Few days ago I visited the new central waste water treatment facility of my home town, Tampere. This is the end of the processing line, where the cleaned water is directed to a nearby lake. It takes about 1,4 days for the waste water to flow through the process, and essentially become lake water.

Trump removed sanctions on the country that murdered 30 innocent people riding on this bus last week. He has sided with this.

This is not a difficult or complicated choice.
