If we want to actually do something about the cartels, we can start by ending the War on Drugs. We already ran this experiment with the mob during Prohibition. Turns out banning things just made organized crime richer. A regulated drug market is safer for everyone.

Welp, nice to see the public opinion finally shifting on this. Some of us didn’t need to see 2 full years of children dying to say something…. I literally had friends/family unfriend me and write nasty notes over this. Wonder where they’re at on this now!

Here we go again! Typical dangerous misinformation in this article. The symptoms experienced: “shaky hands, dizziness, and hot flashes.” None of these are symptoms of fentanyl overdose. This article also reinforces myths around Halloween candy fentanyl toward the end.

“Detectives say traffickers are intentionally making fentanyl in candy-like forms to attract children and young adults in an effort to drive addiction.” Drugs attract young adults because drugs are awesome, offer an escape from violent end stage capitalism, fill mental health treatment voids…

Stephen Murray’s journey to stability began with support, not punishment. Forcing people into treatment can worsen outcomes and increase overdose risk. With high costs and long waitlists, many struggle to get help. That’s why he calls for accessible care grounded in healing, dignity, and safety

We seem to be getting a new flood of these stories... I searched all the available info — there is no discussion anywhere of the symptoms the officer allegedly experienced and no bodycam footage on any of the news stories. We can safely say that a wet soggy bag of dope is not going to go airborne.

imagine spending your life in such a state of fear and paranoia that you consider it reasonable to believe people are poisoning door handles with fentanyl traps, that this is a thing that occurs and you have to watch out for

For the upteenth time — you are NOT having a fentanyl overdose if you feel hot, panicked, drive yourself to the hospital, receive naloxone while awake, get dizzy. If she really felt like she was going to pass out while driving, it’s incredibly irresponsible to continue driving.

If you're anxious & awake, it's not opioid OD. You're definitely not overdosing on an opioid if you are capable of driving.... [besides the fact you can't OD on fentanyl by touching it & this ER dr doesn't know what opioid overdose looks like & doesn't know that fentanyl is an opioid]

A friend of mine who was 96 passed away last week. I was thinking about how nice it was to finally have a friend who wasn’t 20-40 die. A death where I could say “she lived an amazing and long life!” And smile about it.

There is no standard lethal dose of cocaine. Overdose risk depends on many factors… route (snorted, smoked, injected), body weight, tolerance, health status, and what other substances are on board. Someone can die from a few hundred mg while some use multiple grams daily for years without issue.

THREAD. A recent poll shows that people in the United States suffer from mass delusion about crime. The results are alarming for Democrats. It should be a massive scandal for mainstream news, and it's a pillar of the authoritarian zeitgeist.

Regulating the drug supply makes complete sense right up until you realise prohibition ensures some classes of people can always been persecuted by law enforcement. The "risk of drugs" is like a broken tail light on the backs of the most marginalised
