This morning’s walk was a circular on the Loma de San Marco on the northern outskirts of Alcalá La Real. #hiking #Andalusia #Spain We followed the Los Zumaques trail.

I shall be attending the International Society for Clinical Biostatics in Freiburg next week (I think it will be my 40th) together with the German Association for Medical Informatics, Biometry and Epidemiology (GMDS) but am travelling via my hometown #Basle #Basel #Bâle #Basilea #ISCB47 #GMDS71

Unpopular opinion. I care as much about Ed Sheeran’s opinion on politics as I do about Andy Burnham’s on music and I couldn’t care less what they think of the likelihood principle, although I would like the latter to understand basic arithmetic.

Today’s hike was up Roseberry Topping and Little Roseberry Topping from Guisborough. It was a bit of a bushwhack at the end and Mrs S was not pleased, so I had to eat the pie which is humble. (But a good walk, nonetheless.) #hiking #NYorkMoors

LNER send me a seat number notification reminder. This is very helpful. 👍 They also invite me to sit down and get comfortable while then informing me that there is no platform yet. #AIfail

Wonderful stuff. Rather ashamed that as a Swiss I had to learn the optimal way to climb mountains at an advanced age after decades of hiking in mountains from someone based in Belgium.

Unpopular opinion. The availability of expensive medicines is not a problem. The non-availability of cheap medicines is. Who is failing to provide cheap medicines? It’s not only those who are providing expensive medicines but also everyone else.
