I live in Baltimore County, Maryland. Early voting starts tomorrow and I am having trouble finding information on where the Democratic candidates stand on immigration and transgender issues. I don't want to accidentally vote for a TERF! Any suggestions on a decent source of recommendations?

Clickbait article today reminded me about the eternal anger I feel for how Finn and John Boyega were treated so so shitty by those three Star Wars movies. Such a waste of a good character and a good actor.

OK, I hate hate hate in any way to defend Melania Trump, but the ability to speak English well or even at all is not a measure of anyone's genius or intelligence or whatever. Hate her for what she does, not for her accent.

If you lose power during Hurricane Isaias and use a portable generator, remember to run it at least 20 feet away from your home. Never run a generator indoors. Carbon monoxide is a deadly gas you can't see or smell and it can kill in minutes.

I have splurged and ordered copies of Mythic Bastionland, Pirate Borg, and Outgunned Superheroes. Soon, my to-be-read pile will reach the moon. But I MUST HAVE THEM! #ttrpgs

So my wife is watching the Willy Wonka game show, and it is terrible, but I have to admit it is full of genius level mind fuckery. Just masterful social engineering and turning people against each other. I feel dirty laughing at it but...

Tired of these clickbait articles "15 movies where the villain was right". No, Thanos was not right. He identified a real problem and devised a monstrous solution. That is in no way "right".

Recently read a historical mystery dealing with the chariot races in 1st century Rome, and it strikes me how few #ttrpg adventures ever deal with sports, even though sports have been important activities throughout all of recorded human history. Both professional and amateur sports have been...

reflections of Imperial power, touch points for riots, engines of economic turmoil legal and criminal, sources of civil pride. Chariot and horse racing, knightly tourneys, boxing matches, fox and boar hunting, small town baseball and football rivalries. Sports should be more important in #ttrpg

TV spinoff idea: the Redneck Repair Shop. You take in a broken chair, they spray it with some WD40, slap on some duct tape, and bingo good as new! You need to put some cardboard under one leg to keep it from wobbling. And yes, I have a loveseat propped up with a pile of books under one leg!

Northeast folks, still trying to find a home for a pair of cats whose person passed away

This post is unavailable.

Just to clarify, I mean interesting as in "this is information I didn't know or hadn't considered in this way", not in a sarcastic way or any of the other dozen ways I use interesting.

Start for a modern fantasy story: Character discovers he is a descendant of Charlemagne, then discovers a million other people are also descendants of Charlemagne. Substitute in Genghis Khan for a Mongol twist.

Read DC Comics GRAYSON WE ALL DIE AT DAWN by Seely, King, Janin, Mooney, Cox, and others, and I really miss this era, when they were doing something new and weird and psychedelic with him and the DC universe. Recommend to all fans of spy-fi thrillers. (Not my favorite Midnighter alas)

I sure hope the folks using the guillotine in their protests have studied the next 100 years of French history. The French Revolution really did not turn out so good for a majority of people.

Frederick Douglass, 1857: Those who profess to favor freedom yet deprecate agitation want crops without plowing the ground; they want rain without thunder + lightning. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its waters. Power concedes nothing without a demand. It never did and it never will.
