I am Batman! Well, not quite, but a Cormorant (Phalacrocorax carbo) drying its wings at Tatton Mere Camera: Sony A7RV Lens: Sony FE 300mm f/2.8 GM OSS + Sony 2x Converter Settings: ISO 320 | f/ 5.6| 1/2000s

That concludes this week’s diversion from the normal stuff I broadcast Well worth a visit if anybody’s thinking of going and I certainly intend to go back (with a wider lens!) Camera: Sony A7RV Lens: Sony 24mm-105mm F4 G

I still think the British Rail Double Arrow logo is a genius of design, made in 1965. And soon it will be back on trains. Interestingly it’s always been on paper tickets since 1965 Camera: Sony A7RV Lens: Sony 24mm-105mm F4 G

The Cathedral was somewhat covered in scaffolding outside so didn’t get as much light as I’d hoped for but still an amazing building. Can you imagine what the ordinary folk thought of such a huge building in the 1400’s Camera: Sony A7RV Lens: Sony 24mm-105mm F4 G

Steam power and the railways gave a massive economic, social, and industrial boost to the UK, sparking a period in the 19th century often referred to as "Railway Mania. Camera: Sony A7RV Lens: Sony 24mm-105mm F4 G

Went to York just over a month ago and had a wander around the Cathedral and Railway Museum. Bit of a change from what I usually shoot but hey, need to change it up sometimes Camera: Sony A7RV Lens: Sony 24mm-105mm F4 G

The Golden Goose; well not quite but the male Mallard looked somewhat dapper as it hit then pool of light and mist Camera: Pentax K1 Lens: Pentax 300mm f4 Settings: ISO 1600 | f/5.6 | 1/400s

Four little ducks make their way across the misty lake that is at the centre of Lindow Common SSSI Camera: Pentax K5II Lens: Tamron70-200mm 2.8 Settings: ISO 1600 | f/8 | 1/2000s

Apologies for delay. It was difficult as I like each of the chosen 4 but as they say there must be a winner so my shout this week goes to Jonny with his great landscape in the cloud shot. @supergios.bsky.social. There were some great shots this week.

One of the misty quack shots as two Mallards float across the early sunrise scene Camera: Pentax K5II Lens: Tamron70-200mm 2.8 Settings: ISO 1600 | f/8 | 1/2000s

A couple of Canadas Geese chilling on the misty lake at Lindow Common SSSI. You don’t always have to zoom in all the way to tell a story Camera: Sony A7R3 Lens: Sony 100-400mm f4.5-5.6 G Settings: ISO 1600 | f/8 | 1/400s

Some “small in the frame” shots this week. I think it’s good to show the subject in its wider environment. Shot at Lindow Common SSSI of a Great Crested Grebe Camera: Sony A7R3 Lens: Sony 200-600mm f5.6-6.3 G Settings: ISO 640 | f/8 | 1/2000s

More from the Hothouse series I did. No AI was involved and all done in camera and edited in Adobe Camera Raw. Shot on Pentax K1 + Pentax 28-105mm and Tamron SP 70-200mm Macro

Hopefully will get back down and have another go and see what has changed. Would you like to see these in a book? Let me know Shot on Pentax K1 + Pentax 28-105mm and Tamron SP 70-200mm Macro

It was fascinating to see all the textures and colours crammed up against the glass. Plus, things had made trails in the dirty glass Shot on Pentax K1 + Pentax 28-105mm and Tamron SP 70-200mm Macro

Thought I’d show you some images from the Hothouse series. All shot outside the glasshouse looking in at all the details. Should I do a book? Let me know what you think Shot on Pentax K1 + Pentax 28-105mm and Tamron SP 70-200mm Macro

Pola 2425 Last of the Pola Project this week and I may post some of the Hothouse images next week for peeps that haven't seen them before. Pentax K1+Tamron 70-200mm

Pola 2422 Pola 2422 It was a bit of a goldmine for all the colours and textures of the plants pressed up against the steamed up glass. Let us know if you think I should look at getting a book together Pentax K1+Tamron 70-200mm

Pola 2419 The Hothouse is closed at the moment so next year I think I'll go down and see what it looks like. Fingers crossed it still looks as good Pentax K1+Tamron 70-200mm

Pola 2410 These images are part of a collection I took outside a plant Hothouse, capturing the colours and textures against the glass. I then took sections and used a polaroid frame in Photoshop Shot on as Pentax K1+Tamron 70-200mm

My #ShareMondays2026 winner this week is @ian-mcc.bsky.social for this superbly seen, envisaged and made image all about the graphic lines and contrasts of dark and light. Magic! It was an image that stopped me immediately on seeing it! Congrats Ian, and I hope you enjoy judging next week 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Pola 2335 These are taken from the Pola Project I did some time ago when I did the Hothouse series of images. Never did get to make them into a book, should I now? Shot on Pentax K1+Tamron70-200mm
