I hate the idea that the only artists likely to have a breakthrough and a sustainable career in music are ones who have the time and money to promote themselves constantly. I know the 'old' days had numerous faults but at least they had a chance with a good record or getting discovered live.

#nowplaying Kids with Buns album is wonderful music.youtube.com/playlist?lis...

One thing Japan travelling has taught me is Instagram and YouTube 'experts' really know nothing. So many bad or unnecessary tips and advice.

4 days in Kyoto and this place is finally open. (Opening times are flexible in Kyoto😂) Very cool. Melody's Echo Chamber, Dinosaur Jr and Mazzy Star amongst Japanese rock whilst I've been sat here

Somehow my goddaughters friend has sorted Glastonbury tickets for me and my mate😱😎

Japan guitar porn for you musos

It’s been a busy decade for making music so far, there’s still plenty more to come. 😊 Proud of what has been achieved with very little money and still not out of pocket. #musicsky

#BandcampFriday sees the release of @blokeacola.bsky.social new album - hear a very amusing interview with him on my latest show

Bento box for breakfast. On the shinkansen to Kyoto. Delicious, but can really see it taking off on the 8.41 to Birmingham new street😂

Dictator Available On All Major Digital Platforms Friday ✌️

This is a scary place😂 Luckily for my wallet I don't collect vinyl, but it would be so tempting to start

Guess it's umbrella weather again today😁

For the last six years I've been learning basic Japanese. Finally made it to Japan and automatically resort to pointing at stuff and looking very confused whilst people try and explain things🤣

I think this song is what the end of the world probably sounds like. 15 minutes of a relentless groove, with a really sinister bass and the most evil sounding guitar over the top. Completely hypnotised me www.youtube.com/watch?v=NNKA...

New remix for our single “Vibe Check” dropped today. More guitars, more angular, got a little bit of inspo from “Silent Alarm” era Bloc Party. 🎧🎸 open.spotify.com/track/5vqJOb...

3 of the richest men in the world buying a 3rd of my club. Honestly makes me feel hollow. There is too much money in the game nowadays and this just means £millions more swilling round making a worse product. Wonder how long before there is a subscription package on Amazon Prime

Sun is shining again & the Old Indie Kid supplying the soundtrack😎🌞

You would think those chem trail/ weather manipulation dudes would have brought us some rain and cooler weather by now. Maybe they really can't do it🤷‍♂️

Easily one of the best albums of the year so far. Loud, fun and full of massive tunes. For fans of Veruca Salt, Hole, L7 and all those awesome punk girls from the 90s music.youtube.com/playlist?lis...

Theres a post on the other place of peoples disappointed reactions to a 'suprise' song at a BTS concert. Apparently they play a song which isnt in the pre planned setlist and fans genuinelly get pissed off with this. Isnt the whole point of a live show to get the unexpected

Hello Francis Pig, you are a lot of fun. Nailed that Dandy Warhols/Cramps/j&mc sound 👌 music.youtube.com/watch?v=9JET...

The wonderful supportive team @forumbooks.bsky.social saw on here the problems I was having with potentially losing my royalties due to the company I worked with closing. So they ordered in lots of my books for me to sign and dedicate ♥️ Order below and support an indie author AND an indie bookshop ☺️

Slow Fiction with one of the best songs of the year www.youtube.com/watch?v=bGqx...

It’s called ‘Thunder’ and you can also see our insanely well made directorial debut of a video for it here youtu.be/JUfEnLAhn58?... Reactions so far have included ‘do you know that’s a bit unhinged’ and ‘do you need to speak to someone’

Please try and support Lucy if you can. Truly excellent author

Brand new single out like right now! Available everywhere & whatnot! FYI it’s a bit of a breakbeat number 🤪 🙏🏻👊🏻🤘🏻 bfan.link/freight-trai...

Looking pretty likely that Westside Cowboy will be topping all the end of year award polls. Another corker of a tune music.youtube.com/watch?v=Srmo...

The weekend soundtrack has arrived. 🌊 Episode 2: 'The Dreamy Swagger' is streaming right now. We’re diving into a blend of massive 90s nostalgia, jangly guitar hooks, and fuzzy indie-pop brilliance. www.mixcloud.com/inyourearsmu...

New EP from @themeaseband.bsky.social is superb. Final track The Illusion Continues is 👌 music.youtube.com/playlist?lis...

Kat wrote the lyrics for this song. It felt quite strange at first having the tables turned and her writing a song about me. “Your anxious heart belongs to me” youtu.be/CIgeuNgJ-xc?...

May have finally found a Band to get excited about this year. Oz band Radio Free Alice taking the best bits of The Smiths and Suede and making a wonderfull noise. Latest single Lunch Money is superb and they have an excellent back catalogue too. music.youtube.com/watch?v=jef6...

Can we have a new rule in football where every team has to play with a maverick genius who is slightly lazy and selfish. Would make the game far more entertaining than the robotic borefest we have had to put with recently

The man @lewca.co.uk giving a timely reminder that music can just be fun. Like The Streets on all the best drugs music.youtube.com/watch?v=GzQd...

BandCamp-only release of my newest journey (mixtape 9) is out now! Album artwork by @midgecerys.bsky.social invisiblesquirrel.bandcamp.com/album/the-nuts

Hey everyone, does anyone fancy joining me in a Top 5 of Under The Rainbow album by @shapeslikepeople.bsky.social ? Starting 25th May, bank holiday. For those who haven't a clue what I'm talking about here's how it works..

Favourite new release of the week is from Bodega. Cool baggy groove and a massive chorus music.youtube.com/watch?v=DC3-...

I may have written The Reytons off too soon. All a bit too sub par Arctic Monkeys previously, but seems theyve had a rethink & I really like this a lot music.youtube.com/watch?v=LueR...
