The richest 0.1% produce more carbon pollution than nearly half of humanity. Meanwhile, working people lose their homes and livelihoods to climate disasters. The wealthy get richer destroying the planet while the rest of us pay the price. This is capitalism. www.commondreams.org/news/oxfam-0...

commondreams.org'A Crime of Extreme Inequality': Richest 0.1% Generate More Carbon Pollution Than Half of Humanity | Common Dreams“The ultra-rich are setting the planet on fire and then charging the rest of us for the extinguishers."

If this AI bubble blows up they’ll come begging for our money after telling us what geniuses they are. Fuck that. Help the people losing their jobs and retirement savings. These billionaires made their bets. They can take the damn losses. www.commondreams.org/news/ai-bubb...

commondreams.org'Working People Will Pay a High Price': Report Warns AI Bubble Is 'Primed to Pop' | Common DreamsInvestment boom in AI is a financial bubble "primed to pop," warns report. Lawmakers urged to protect working-class Americans from potential harm.

People are fighting to save their schools and public services. Trump’s answer is to blame immigrants and demand deportations. It’s vile. The wealthy keep taking more while working people are told to turn on their neighbors. We should be furious at the people making these cuts.

A handful of alleged voting violations doesn’t justify threatening election workers or putting thousands of ballots in doubt. Trump is already setting up his excuse to reject the results if Republicans lose.

No kings should mean no oligarchs either. Billionaires shouldn’t get to buy elections and write the rules for the rest of us. That power needs to be challenged whether Republicans or Democrats control Congress.

Ilhan Omar has every right to speak against Trump and live in her own country. Nobody’s citizenship should depend on loyalty to a president. You don’t have to agree with her politics to defend her rights.

Opposing Trump doesn’t give Democrats a blank check to escalate the war in Ukraine. People want help paying their bills. They shouldn’t have their anger at Trump treated as permission for a wider war with Russia.

Trump’s DOJ wants California to hold up ballots based on a list of people it thinks aren’t citizens. If that list is wrong, eligible voters pay the price. Nobody should have to fight to get their vote counted because the government screwed up.

Washington always finds money for war. But when workers need healthcare or help putting food on the table we’re told the country can’t afford it. Why should we keep paying for wars we never asked for through higher prices and cuts to basic services?

A woman gets punched at a Trump rally while the crowd chants “USA.” Trump mocks her as police lead her out. How does anyone watch that and still claim this movement cares about free speech or opposes political violence? www.wsws.org/en/articles/...

wsws.orgAs Trump looks on, supporters beat woman protester at rally in Youngstown, OhioRacist and anti-communist denunciations accompanied attacks on protesters in scenes recalling the German American Bund’s 1939 Nazi rally at Madison Square Garden.

Call it fascism. People’s rights are being stripped away while we’re told to wait for the next election. Working people have to organize and fight back. The corporate interests that helped get us here aren’t going to save us.

Billionaires shouldn’t get more say in our future just because they can bankroll campaigns. Campaign finance reform is overdue. Real democracy means working people having power over both our government and the economy that shapes our lives.

Trump uses the fear of nuclear attacks to sell his war. Then his administration tells us socialism is the threat. Apparently healthcare and a decent life for everyone are more dangerous than endless war and a government that serves the rich.

Netanyahu reportedly received warnings before October 7. He can’t keep blaming everyone else while blocking an independent inquiry. The public deserves the truth. And no security failure can justify the mass killing of Palestinians.

Two-thirds of Americans support Medicare for All. How many more people have to go bankrupt or skip treatment before politicians listen? Healthcare should be a right. The insurance industry’s profits should never matter more than someone’s life.

Politicians choose war. We get higher gas prices and grocery bills. Then we’re told to wait for the next election to demand accountability. Democracy should mean having the power to stop a war before people die and working families get stuck with the bill.

AI should mean shorter hours and better lives. If companies can produce more with less labor then workers deserve to share the gains. Using that technology to destroy livelihoods while shareholders cash in is a choice workers have every right to fight.

A vote doesn’t have to be a pledge of loyalty. It can be a demand that politicians answer for the wars they start and the lives they destroy. But accountability can’t end at the ballot box. Keep the pressure on whoever wins.

Artists deserve a say in how their work is used and a secure living. A licensing deal between Disney and an AI company guarantees neither. AI should give people more time to create. Under corporate control it becomes another way to cut jobs and concentrate wealth.

The far right feeds on real anger over falling living standards, then turns that anger against immigrants. Winning the midterms matters, but Democrats can’t defeat Trumpism by offering people the same politics that helped create this crisis.

More people are turning to food banks as it costs more to keep their trucks running. Trump cuts food assistance while his war drives up fuel prices; then families and volunteers are left to deal with the damage. www.commondreams.org/news/food-ba...

commondreams.orgUS Food Banks Under Strain as Trump Policies Drive Up Costs | Common DreamsPresident Trump's Iran War and SNAP cuts are straining food banks nationwide. Increased demand and shipping costs are impacting communities.

Growing frustration with Trump could benefit Democrats in November. Still, a change in congressional control won’t automatically resolve concerns about war, living costs and public services. Both parties should be judged by their policies and results.

Workers in other countries aren’t our enemies. We’re told to accept layoffs and cuts while our governments pour money into war. We need to organize across borders and refuse to keep sacrificing our lives and livelihoods for the people getting rich off us.
