This maple tree has been, for at least the past 3 years, the earliest color-changing tree in the Dayton, Ohio Metro. It starts turning red in August. Has been a vibrant red deep into September and will drop its leaves before any other vegetation. But always seems relatively healthy. #ohwx

It's September 8th, which means this Monarch Butterfly is part of the 2026 'super generation' - it will live for ~8 months, migrate ALL THE WAY to Northern Mexico, stay the winter, and migrate ALL THE WAY back to Dayton, Ohio in the Spring! Then it will lay eggs and die. #OHwx

CAT 5 Super Typhoon #Bavi 'eye' encompassing Rota in the Mariana Islands. They likely got hammered with intense winds as the 'eyewall' moved overhead, and will get slammed again soon when the backside hits! Looks like shear has eroded the northeast quadrant of the cyclone.
