My brother just told me about "decompiling" and how you can now play bootleg GTA 5 on a PC. Its making me worried we may get GTA 6 before we get GTA 6.

I would like to add the word "wurse" to my vocabulary. Because a man purse is a "murse" and "purse", being the original term, should be the gender neutral term. So we need the word "wurse" to describe a distinctly feminine purse.

Sometimes I kind of hope my phone camera is spying on me so the corporate overlords can see the involuntary look of disgust on my face every time I'm presented with an uncanny valley fuckass AI ad.

Albertans are crying (CRYING I tell you) because gas prices went up. "Why are we paying so much when we have so much oil?" It's an unprecedented opportunity to pull dumbass Albertans away from their capitalist programming, but I'm pretty much certain the Alberta NDP will fumble the ball like Daria.

If you're an Albertan who isn't a dumbass then this jab isn't for you. But you might consider explaining to a dumbass Albertan in your life that the private for-profit oil industry doesn't and will never serve them. All the Albertans in my life aren't dumbasses so I have no one to directly chirp at.

Having worked several reception jobs, I estimate that 60-70% of cold callers take a "do you even know who I am?" attitude with front desk staff. Does this actually work on anyone? I don't know who you are, and if I can't figure it out I'm not wasting a manager or director's time with your message.

My favorite is when they have found a name at the company and try to pretend they're already connected so they can get transferred, and I hit them with "is this person expecting your call?" Chokes them up every time.

I feel a little bad for the private land owners, but when you buy stolen property there's a risk that the rightful owners are going to want it back. The Cowichan leaders are correct that the private title-holders need to take up their issues with the provincial government. www.cbc.ca/news/canada/...

For some really informative reading on this history and the deeper legalities, I highly recommend "Unsettling Canada: A National Wakeup Call" by Arthur Manuel and Ronald Derrickson. It's entertaining and accessibly written (well, as much as possible for such a dense and complex topic).

It's also pretty nasty that some are using the Nisga'a Treaty as an example where fee-simple and indigenous title co-exist. Many believe it was illegal process the government had no right to impose, and the Nisga'a leaders had no right to agree to on behalf of their community and descendants.

The private owners can probably continue to use the property under indigenous leasing rules. The provincial government had no right to steal and sell that property to private owners. It's their responsibility to compensate the private owners for any loss in property value.

Apparently Elon Musk has said that money can't buy happiness. And I hope someone tells him that money CAN buy happiness if you choose to spend it on happiness, but he chose to spend his on developing a ketamine dependency instead.

WARNING: A Trump company is going to manage TikTok in the U.S. Up until now, TikTok has merely been regime-friendly media. Going forward it's going to be straight-up regime-media. Only take news from accounts you already know and trust. Double and triple check everything you hear on TikTok.

I love when I click on an article promising their advice can help you save for retirement quickly, and then their advice is to earn $1000 more per month. Really top quality stuff.

Its pretty ironic for Trump to say that Somalia stinks when he famously comes from a city that famously smells like peepee (no hate to NYC, I love that city, but it does smell like peepee).

Giving human names to hurricanes was a diabolical choice. I just saw a headline saying "Melissa's threat to Jamaica grows" and for a second I was like "omg who is Melissa, what did Jamaica do?" like low-key worried there's some insane Trump staffer I hadnt heard of starting international beef.

My headcanon is that David Duke actually died 15 years ago, was embalmed and entombed for a year or two, then suddenly remembered he was late for a KKK meeting, got up, and let himself out. Bro looks like he's coated in crypt dust at all times. Like he will crumble in your hands if you grab him.

I know it's a bit weird to film other people's pets without asking but he was so cute and working so hard, and his human was nowhere in sight to ask permission. I wonder what his name is.

If you ever feel useless just know you'll never be as useless as the Toronto transit cops on the same subway platform as me who are standing right in front of the gate, watching people use their card/phone to pay and trigger the gate to open, and then demanding to see their proof of purchase.

I recently learned that apparently JD Vance can ski? I had no idea haunted mannequins could do that. The evil wizard who cast the spell that brought Vance to life must be very skilled indeed.

Wow gonna stop posting trash for a sec because I tried finding a simple explanation of executive orders for a friend and discovered that a simple explanation doesn't exist. Joe Buddy with his half assed high school diploma would not understand most of these "beginner" explanations. Wtf?

Here's an actually simple explanation: Congress makes laws, but laws are vague. President decides how to follow the laws by telling government employees what to do. The president often uses an executive order to do this. There's a little more to it, but this is the most basic explanation.

An executive order must follow the laws of congress and the constitution, or the courts can strike it down with a judicial review. Congress can also pass or change laws to make an executive order useless. So now you have the basics. Don't ask me questions. I'm ignorant and wont know the answer ๐Ÿ˜
