“Bigelow Laboratory's Center for Aquatic Cytometry is the best place to learn about flow cytometry, and the knowledge and equipment there cannot be matched," wrote one Introduction to Flow Cytometry participant from 2024. "If you use flow cytometry, this is the best way to learn from the experts!"

So happy to see this out! Such a collaborative effort, and one of the most challenging and rewarding projects due to life events: "The authors wish to acknowledge baby Bowie (MEL), and baby Maya (SGL) for the inspiration and perspective their arrivals brought to the writing process." 💙

Since people are liking the Bocchi colors, I have a whole collection of color palettes on my GitHub: github.com/cxli233/Colo... You will find the hex code, the preview, and the inspiration for each color palette. I hope some of them will be used. #DataVis

Re-upping this post: I took this color palette from an anime "Bocchi the Rock". The colors look nice, and the set is red/green colorblind friendly. Hex = c("#F2C9D5", "#B43E44", "#FADF92" , "#496496", "#282828", "#904869")

This paper originated from a simple idea: Since we want to study SAR11 growth physiology, let’s look at how one SAR11 bacterium becomes two SAR11 bacteria, inspired by the quote from François Jacob, “The dream of a bacterium: to produce two bacteria”.

Incredibly proud to share this work, almost 6 years in the making, out this month in Science!!! 🎇 We've known for over a century that eukaryotes of all kinds anticipate the seasons (think: hibernation, flowering, reproduction!), but what about bacteria?🦠 www.science.org/doi/10.1126/...

science.orgBacteria can anticipate the seasons: Photoperiodism in cyanobacteriaPhotoperiodic time measurement is the ability of plants and animals to measure differences in day versus night length (photoperiod) and use that information to anticipate critical seasonal transformat...

Replying to @ahoiching.bsky.social

The 2020 lockdown has steered me towards thinking a lot about the flow cytometry, as this was the only lab equipment that I mastered by then. It is a special experience that on the day my paper launches, I am at UTMSI helping @suleles.bsky.social set up the new flow cytometry (and meet cute Maya!).

You are up to date.
