Supporting people's liberation needn't require that we endorse nationalism. Why, then, is it still so prevalent within anti-imperialist struggles today? In conversation with Ralf Ruckus, Nandita Sharma exposes the link between "the migrant" and the nation from a perspective that aims to abolish both

And... There were no immigration controls in the 15th c. The only "borders" during Vlad's time were meant to keep people trapped inside the territories in which rulers oppressed and exploited them.

The mask is FULLY off from the man now.

Accepting a distinction between "citizens" and "migrants" is how fascism creeps in. Deaths of people in ICE detention have more than doubled under Trump 50 people dead in ICE custody since Jan 2025 Last week's $70 billion ICE funding bill funds it without a single reporting requirement

It's funny that folks get so angry about the idea that university professors are petty bourgeois. By various longstanding definitions, they absolutely are. But it's not as if there's consensus about the meaning of various class labels. They remain thoroughly murky & contested.

Whether professors are technically petty bourgeois in terms of their relationship to production means little. It's not somehow better or more revolutionary to be a high-income worker over mediocre store owner. Regardless, professors hold a relatively privileged social position.

Beyond the relatively high compensation, professors have power over others. Even as a lowly adjunct, I hold power over the folks who take my classes. Professors proper often additionally manage a number of grad students, determining their fate & too frequently exploiting them.

In any case, well-paid professionals live different lives from most working-class folks. Smalltime shopkeepers & other clear petty-bourgeois people don't necessarily do better for themselves than professors or support the status quo any more.

Trans acceptance must not rely on narratives of us as necessarily agreeable & harmless. I'm a traumatized freak, weirdo, & ideologue. You'd probably be uncomfortable around me. Some trans folks commit abuse & support oppression. We have the same wide range as other groups.

Please boost & support Idris however you can! I greatly admire his vision & clarity. This is part of a coordinated Zionist effort to suppress Palestinian liberation struggles. We must fight back.

BREAKING: Texas State Fires Professor over Palestine Speech Philosopher Idris Robinson is being fired for having principles. He gave a talk on Palestinian resistance. He would not condemn it. Over a year later, TXST terminates his tenure-track contract. But he's fighting back.🧵

The problem with using Nazi rhetoric & promoting Nazis isn't so much "Jewish feelings". It's *that they're fucking Nazis*. They remain an existential threat even when they're attacking Israel (as some long have).

"I don't believe in nationalism; I'm a citizen of the universe. I'm tired of borders and I'm tired of walls. If something happens to the people in India or Africa—and they're starving to death and dying—then that's happening to us, too." - Gloria Anzaldúa

Democratic socialists (&/or social democrats) have taken r/tankiejerk. Posts that praise NATO as well as those that oppose decolonization & BDS get massive upvotes. Anyone critical gets downvoted into oblivion. Anarchism is no longer welcome in a nominally anarchist subreddit.

Attacks on Mamdani for supposedly being "foreign" & having failed to "assimilate" show how racist, incoherent, & oppressive these concepts are. Dude speaks eloquent U.S. English, has overflowing charisma, & spreads a message that appeals to millions of U.S. citizens.

Years ago, a local DSA leader accused another radical of being antisemitic for a joke I made about smashing a piñata of Bernie Sanders at community event. At this point, I'm not joking & really think we should do it.

I fully support deplatforming Bernie Sanders & everyone else who praises Trump for securing the border. This policy involves horrific violence against folks simply for where they happen to have been born. There's no excuse for pandering to fascism.

"Our enemies are genetically inferior losers!" ❌ "We're productive; they're parasites." ❌ "We're the normal ones, actually." ❌ "We're freaks & outcasts uniting to dismantle the system! Death to power & status!" ✅

I just got banned from r/Feminism without explanation for posting basic information about sex-worker organizations like Butterfly & Red Canary Song. Why is it that the worst elements in any given community tend to seize power on Reddit? 🤔

Many years ago, r/atheism banned me for opposing laws against face coverings. More recently, r/Albuquerque & r/unm gave me the boot for sharing news about the UNM Palestine Solidarity Encampment. Petty tyrants rule each of these subreddits. No mods, no masters!

I embrace proliferating queerness & the challenge it poses to nation-states. Acceptance & education do increase the number of folks who go against the norms of gender & sexuality. It's not simply a matter of being "born this way" & unable to change. We *are* recruiting! Join us.

Even under the dubious narrative of gender & sexuality as strictly innate, plenty of people have the potential to move in various directions. Trans & queer liberation involves inviting everyone to explore possibilities as desired. You can be trans too!

Me: Trans folks don't have to disclose & shouldn't go to prison for consensual encounters. Bigots posing as feminists: *vile insults, threats, dogpiling, scapegoating, & fan fiction about sexual violence*

We do a disservice to trans history by remembering Sylvia Rivera simply as a trans woman. She went on & then off hormones, concluding that she "didn't want to be a woman" but wanted "to be Sylvia Rivera" & to sow confusion about gender via "pretending" & "dress up".

Trans & queer liberation are not primarily about producing intelligible subjects—the trans man, the trans woman, etc.—as useful & necessary as that may be in the short term. It's about cultivating exploration, freedom, & play for all. You can be trans too! We're recruiting.

"Can a gay man date a trans woman? Can a lesbian date a trans man?" Trans & queer liberation is about freedom. These labels can help us for the time being. We shouldn't let them constrain us. Bend & break them when they do. Be ungovernable. Here's to total abolition!

Intellectual-property laws overwhelmingly serve the interests of corporations & imperialist countries in the Global North. It's wonderful that they remain absent or minimally enforced in various countries. We must remove them completely.

When will the aid arrive in Gaza?! All I hear is "soon," "soon," "soon." People in Gaza have been starved of resources in the war zone they've been trapped in for 2+ years. It must move now.

I've never supported U.S. military intervention anywhere & long committed to materially dismantling the war machine on these occupied Native lands. If needed, revolutionaries can redistribute weapons to folks in Syria, Ukraine, etc. as part of that process. Death to empire!

The Mexican Liberal Party—an anarchist organization—hated & fought the Mexican government. They simultaneously opposed U.S. intervention in the Mexican Revolution & pushed anti-imperialism in the USA (where they operated in exile). This serves as an excellent precedent for us.

At Trump's antifa roundtable, they just traced the history of antifa back to the Weimar Republic. They're explicitly going after an organization/movement/ideology that they say started by opposing the original Nazis.

Opposing the USA & capitalism isn't an extreme view but rather a necessary starting point. Wanting to spread sentience & sapience to matter across the universe? Now *that* is an extreme view. 🤖🚀🪐☄️
