Just going through my stream of consciousness It’s okay, I find myself funny enough for all of us.

The people behind me at the hockey at the worst. Like seriously the worst. And they have a lot more opinions about the game now the women are playing. Has also complained about why people even came to the game if they aren’t going to watch. Anyone at the hockey is a good thing.

I think we should be less concerned about whether athletes sing the national anthem and be way more concerned about how our response to the haka is singing Waltzing Matilda. That’s just embarrassing. We might as well say we’d rather drown ourselves in the billabong than face your battle cry

Apparently there is uproar about the rugby league players not singing the national anthem. It’s like they have never watched a sports event before, because it’s not a new thing at all. Our anthem sucks. It sucks so much as a nation we’ve decided to not to include the second verse anymore

My podcast did end up saying that Australians pronounce emu as Emew but that they are dumb Americans and will continue with emoo. Like a digital cow. I didn’t call them dumb Americans. They did that.

I’m currently listening to a podcast about the Emu War. It’s by Americans. Im not sure I’ve ever heard Australian history told by Americans. It’s odd. Plus, the mispronunciation of Emu grates.

Every time Cloudstreet by Tim Winton tops some kind of best Australian novel I feel the stab of a thousand pens. The lack of quotation marks in that book is a nightmare. I had to read so many Tim Winton novels at school. Each one of them contains a scene about a wet dream. Every one.

I’m just watching some of the UK Traitors and James Blunt just took control of the task. And it’s like oh yeah, he was an officer in the army and not just that dude that sung a massively misinterpreted song.

I’m watching season 4 of Australian Taskmaster. It’s very enjoyable because it is very clear that everyone hates Hughesy. In very overt ways. Even Australia’s sweetheart Lisa McCune.

In case anyone wondering, there is someone in a Souths jersey at the Newcastle Grand Final viewing at the knights stadium. Because of course there is

The magic being real in this Scooby Doo feels insulting to the entire thing about Scooby doo. The monsters weren’t real. They were just some creepy dude in a mask.

Winnie had surgery on his feet on Thursday and he has now worked out how to take off his bandages. What a fun turn of events. I’m going to have to get better at bandaging.

Scooby has such big paws. Which is normal for a Great Dane. I just live with a greyhound. They don’t have big paws. Problematic paws, but not large.

I will be spending all of her scenes judging her American accent. It’s more of spot that Australian accent coming through

I know im having a wild Saturday night because im watching movies and not tv. Bugonia followed by Scooby Doo. Im only just starting Scooby doo now. I’ve never seen it before I did not expect it starting with Pamela Anderson.

The things that take break my suspension of disbelief are wild. All the ridiculous plot points in Xena? Sure. Xena being thrown into a pit and having rats unleashed on her to I assume try and eat her? No. Rats would never do that.

Unexpected things… I’m listening to audiobook Villain Edit by Alisha Aitken- Radburn. A contest from the bachelor. I have no idea who she is or her Bachelor story. But there is a part where it sounds like she is talking about being on the ace spectrum. Just without the terms. Surprising.

Though, less surprising in context of the rest of the box where it seems like she has slept with people to avoid awkward situations. Mainly I hope she has gotten some real solid therapy. Because my thoughts are primarily “oh honey”

There is a fat bear week animation on Google if you search fat bear week. It is the only thing getting me through the day.

I have no idea what to watch anymore. So I’m just rewatching taskmaster. Season 7 is my favourite. I haven’t reached season 19 yet, but the chaotic energy of Jason Mantzoukas and Stevie Martin team tasks is top tier Taskmaster.

It’s fascinating to watch the discourse of people coming out and saying well if Nathan Cleary had a broken foot, then why did staff let him play? As if the best player on the team playing a final injured was unheard of. Players playing injured is seen as heroic and expected.

It only matters because of a catastrophic potentially career ending injury. Suddenly, it’s oh no where is the duty of care. There is no duty of care in professional sport. The higher the profile, the higher the pressure to continue through injuries. It is the expectation.

Players are expendable. Once they can no longer play, they are mostly discarded, with a handful of exceptions There’s a world where they’d be treated like injured horses and greyhounds. Taken out back and shot.

One thing I’ve learnt from this reading of Catching Fire. Being an adult being stuck in the arena with Katniss and Peeta would be the worst. Having to put up with 2 love struck teenagers? The worst. Trying to start an uprising and there are these teenagers with their epic love story drama

Look, it’s Peeta and Katniss on watch. Now they are making out not looking out. Need to rework an entire plan to rescue the boy so teenage symbol of the rebellion can still be used as a symbol of the rebellion.

I fell into a Wikipedia rabbit hole yesterday and ended up on the Hunger Games page. It mentioned some opinions were that Katniss was passive and had no desires Which is such a weird reading of the books coz there is a very clear motive and desire. The safety of her family and to survive.

Katniss is passive to her role as the Mockingjay and fitting into the rebellion. But her wanting for her sister, mother and family to survive. Like, that’s her entire thing. Just a real weird take. A completely incorrect take. Or maybe they just focused on the boys part.

I wonder if on the RUOK? Day, if someone will ask if I’m okay. Without that prompting. No one normally asks. I think most people don’t actually want the answer. My roommate has never asked. Even in contexts where the answer was no. I do wonder what will be the catalyst if she does.

The world is crushing me. I can’t even bothered to talk about my current book project. It’s the hunger games. I read the two prequels and after reading sunrise on the reaping, I’m doing a reread of the original trilogy to see what it has added. The opinions just feel like weighing me down

Melanie C is a shirt sponsor for the Sheffield Women’s football team. I don’t support a team in that competition. Did I just become a Sheffield FC fan? Do I want a jersey that says Melanie C on the front? Yes and yes.

You know who else has an unfair advantage in sport? Naturally talented athletes. And people with high hemoglobin. And rich people with money for sports camps and coaches. Why should they be allowed to compete? “Fairness in sports” my ass. Never since NFTs have I heard such bullshit.

My work has a family fun day in November and you can only invite immediate family only. What even counts as immediate family? What even is family?

I just read about Australian foods coming with a warning and being supervised for serving size. Sounds fake. And offensive to my nation. Who is giving these warnings? Are they Australians? Because that is not the actions of an Australian We trust all visitors to decide for themselves.
