There is something so soul crushing about creating art that pushes the needle in the games industry, only to be thanked by using the capital gained from said art to push the ones who created it out of a job.

The very last task I had at BioWare before I left to pursue a new opportunity was to paint this pose of Solas embracing the Inquisitor (I didn't paint this entire image, it was just the figures). Even at the time it felt poignant that this would be my last contribution to Dragon Age.

I don’t have anything novel to say. BioWare has been dying a death by 1000 cuts & it can by & large be pinned on EA. Look at this industry. This isn’t a new story. It just hurts more (for me) because BioWare was my special “why I make games” studio. ME saved me. May the devs land softly. Fuck EA.

you can't judge when bioware was really killed because the mismanagement at the higher level under EA has been so constant and pervasive since the acquisition at every stage that every game shipped at all was a herculean miracle
