Naturally some characters will have some additional changes when it comes to certain bosses. Peppino will simply attempt to hit Sans instead of grab him, the 8-bit sprites change during the scripted special attack, and if the song setting is the default it will change to an exclusive theme

Wario and Knuckles have been fully converted to the new code systems and have been improved as well!

Got the visuals for the character select screen implemented, and now you can select your duo combination! (WIP)

Lots of new improvements to the new select menu! You can now preview the music that plays throughout the whole menu, I added the character select, and there is a cursor when selecting enemies and characters so that it's no longer required to use the mouse

I've been working on an improved enemy select menu! Since you can fight everyone as anyone, there will be a convenient shared menu where you can choose your characters, enemies, backgrounds, and songs!

The spines will probably not be final, mainly due to the fact that I still have to do rotations for the base sprite (oh, boyyy). Base stuff I want to do for Bowser is cover stuff from SMB1/3/W, and SPP.

This may seem like an ordinary fight with messed up shadows, but this was a test. Luigi can successfully be controlled with Mario's usual key and vice versa. This means that in the future, you will be able to select any combination of available playable characters as a duo!

Thanks to the new code systems I made, every playable character is able to immediately fight any enemy from the get-go! That's how far behind my code was lmao

(WIP) I've recoded Sonic's homing attack to have a much better flow and fun mechanic. After throwing a ring, you have to press Z to aim where Sonic goes. A correct aim will allow you to hit the enemy repeatedly with it

I'm very proud that in 2023 my fangame was featured next to one of my biggest inspirations named Kritter, who created the fangame Mario Land: Minigame Mayhem. 2023 was the worst year of my life, I had to deal with my mother's psychotic episode and my father died, but I never gave up and I never will

Things are shaping up nicely for these redone systems. Now it's extremely easy to put a character in a battle not originally made for them. To make it even easier, I'm going to make the characters' dodge mechanics and physics more universal but not too much or else they'll be less unique

Working on a new Mouser boss. The first attack has him throw bombs that change their trajectory depending on where he's pointing

A new evolution is slowly approaching! A lot of systems are being redone and created behind the scenes i.e. ratings, sprite reimports for optimization, and a new damage output equation with proper defense and attack stats!

Hotfix 5.6 is out! If you were having any of these issues, I recommend redownloading. Your save file will carry over like always

I apologize to those who were met with a clown vomit colored Mario upon starting the game, there is a hotfix coming soon LOL (for now you can change your palette in the overworld by pressing the enter key)
