Our paper is out today in Demographic Research where we investigate which aspects of partnership trajectories better explains completed fertility. Happy to be part of this work led by @svidal.bsky.social with Mariona Lozano. It’s always fun to work with friends!

Demographic Research@demresjournal.bsky.social

Partnership trajectories played a key role in shaping completed fertility of cohorts born 1962–77 in Spain. Delayed/foregone unions strongly reduced the likelihood of motherhood, while stable marriages supported progression to higher parity. www.demographic-research.org/articles/vol...

Always happy to publish together with friends :-)

📢New article in International Migration Review! w/ @svidal.bsky.social (@lifelongmove.bsky.social) and Louise Caron, we study how immigrant descent and migration experiences in childhood shape later-life aspirations towards migration. Check it out (it's OpenAccess!) 👇 doi.org/10.1177/0197...

Check out this open-access article that deepens on compound effects of residential and social mobility!

💫Very happy to share that my first single-authored paper has been published in @sfjournal.bsky.social. I suggest to combine Life Course Feature Selection with Ñopo decomposition to disentangle which life-course events drive gender inequalities such as Gender Pension Gaps doi.org/10.1093/sf/s... 🧵👇

Great presentations by A Colasurdo, N Panichella and J Wu at Session 96, "Internal Migration as a Life Course Trajectory", organized by the IUSSP Panel on Lifetime Migration at #IPC2025. Papers from this session—and others—will appear in a Special Issue of Comparative Population Studies in 2026.

Just wrapped up an inspiring workshop on “Causes and Consequences of Spatial Mobility Over the Life Course”! Great presentations and discussions on geographic mobility in childhood and adulthood across Europe. Thanks to everyone who made it such a success! See you next time!

Have a read to this new publication on the role of transnational separation from a child for the mental health of migrant populations.

Claudia Brunori@claudiabrunori.bsky.social

Another piece of my PhD thesis is now published in International Migration Review! How many immigrants get transnationally separated from their children in the migration process, and how does this affect their mental health in the short- and medium- term? Check it out 👇 doi.org/10.1177/0197...

If interested in migration and mobility trajectories: Follow @lifelongmove.bsky.social for updates on the lifrlongmove ERC project and activities of the IUSSP panel on lifetime migration.

Fresh from #PAA2025! Our PI Sergi Vidal @svidal.bsky.social & co-authors presented new findings on the impact of lifelong neighborhood disadvantage and residential trajectories on socioeconomic outcomes. 📍📈 Stay tuned for more

Great opportunity to work on a very interesting research project with a great team 👇👇👇

We are hiring a postdoc for the deciphe.eu project at @diw.de. Work with @svidal.bsky.social, @sbeduk.bsky.social, S. Zinn, M. Medgyesi, myself, and other fantastic team members to understand the intergenerational persistence in homeownership in Europe! More details here: www.diw.de/sixcms/detai...

👇👇👇Thrilled to see this collaboration with @pertzikovitz and @ValkHelga published! 📢 We examine how childhood moves underlie partnership stability in adulthood, to contribute to our understanding of the long-term impacts of residential mobility! @lifelongmove

DECIPHE deploys a comparative research design to address how the chances of being in homeownership if parents were homeowners is affected by demographic change, also in interplay with other contextual factors, such as housing market dynamics The key research objectives are:

(1)    To assemble an open-access database of relevant macro-level variables at the country-, region-, and birth cohort-level focusing on demographic conditions (2)    To collect new data on the intergenerational persistence of homeownership in Germany, Hungary, Spain, and the UK.
