I would like to congratulate the BC electorate for doing something so monumentally stupid that it has attracted the favour of and approval of Donald Trump. Way to go guys

BC election results get the attention of President Trump

The Witcher 3 remaster is amazing. It’s so gorgeous and when it works it’s a pleasure to play. The ps5 pro version having significant issues has been very frustrating. FWIW, the main issues I’ve experienced in the remaster on PS5 Pro have been principally in Toussaint region & the Blood & Wine DLC

Jennifer Hedger being a Brad Bradford supporter is absolutely not shocking at all especially once you know that her husband ran for office before on a similar platform as Bradford that was just mind numbing “the city is falling apart” fantasies that were a cover for right wing fiscal policies. 🚮

So many choices. My favs: wherefore fuckin’ art thou Juliet Out fucking spot, out What a fucking piece of work man is How sharper than a serpent's tooth it is to have a fucking thankless child The worst is not so long as we can say this is the fucking worst

Ok don’t let’s get carried away but I found something genuinely good on Threads.

At my favourite place in the world, back patio, Drinking beer and playing Witcher 3 on my steamdeck, autumn here already, 14 degrees with a gentle night wind. Perfect can be a place and time

Looking forward to jd Vance trying and failing to make an American catholic reformation happen because he has no charm, no skill, and no grace. All he has is a bigoted snobbery

That poor fucking kid. So much therapy for th kid will be needed especially when Dunham inevitably raids the kids’ life for a new property that will invariably be about and become about her and the challenges of being a mother

It is such complete bullshit that the Nintendo of America (which includes Canada under its geographic feogrsphix corporate umbrella) sale right now is for the US only especially since the “reason” for the sale is tariff compensation. Canada gets the price increases but not the mitigating sale…

Look, all I gotta say is that ruin and rebirth people are all feet people. Don’t ask me how I know it’s just something that is a clear and obvious thing if you know

Dark Souls and Elden Ring director Hidetaka Miyazaki has addressed the rumors that he's got a foot fetish, and he seemed pretty baffled by the whole thing. https://bit.ly/464WXhG

I’m an absolute day 1 ff7 revelation buyer and telling me there’s an entire focused storyline on red 13 playing queen’s blood is just causing me enormous grief that it’s not April 2027 right now

The yuffie grappling gameplay from the 7 revelation trailer gave me such sekiro vibes that I’m gonna end up disappointed if I’m not fighting genichiro at the top of that pagoda…

On days when the weather outside is weather, I miss the old twitter the most with the flood of #dlws tweets and #stormto scrolling I did watching the skies and roads through the eyes of people everywhere in the city That was good twitter

I ask this question a lot but it’s something that needs to be asked repeatedly AMERICA, WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU

Some U.S. military members who are itching to play a video game they've anticipated for over a decade can trade a commitment for several more years of their life in uniform for a few days off to play Grand Theft Auto VI.

Given the (unsurprising but still enormously disappointing) court decision, one of the main roles the mayor of Toronto needs to have from the upcoming election until 2029 is to make Doug ford’s life hell, fight every decision and make the case LOUDLY for municipal autonomy

Without the ability in right to decide its own future with the Damoclean Sword of the province over our heads we are nothing but fiefdoms and trading chips for corruption and the masked insecurity of any future premier

Given the (unsurprising but still enormously disappointing) court decision, one of the main roles the mayor of Toronto needs to have from the upcoming election until 2029 is to make Doug ford’s life hell, fight every decision and make the case LOUDLY for municipal autonomy

Partnering with other mayors around a common message, strategy and united front against provincial encroachment on what municipal citizens vote for and for municipal autonomy, for cities to decide their own futures is essential

Messaging that is clear and direct that pits Ford against citizens is necessary “Doug Ford is the premier of Ontario not mayor of Toronto. Why are your tax dollars being spent to fight life in Toronto” Replace Toronto with any city Ford has targeted: Hamilton, Mississauga, Ottawa, Brampton, KW etc

However, we are pleased to interrupt momentarily, the steam deck summer with the return of my playstation life. I love that Tokon has fisk tower beside the 108 building within its universe. It’s a clever fun choice

Summer of steam deck gaming continues with my first ever playthrough of half-life 1 to begin the arc (hopefully) where i correct the missing parts of “the Canon” within my personal library of interactions with the universe

And I’m on to MW2 (original) now for my steam deck summer and I just got to this mission. I’ve always played this mission straight and today, I’m just gonna be the biggest asshole and play it as a way over his head and into the undercover role play way too much scenario

The Rojas capture mission with the fighting in the favela’s is such a good fun COD mission. I’m also really pleased with gorgeous the original MW2 looks especially on an OLED steam deck screen. It looks like it could have been released within the last 5-6 years easily

MW1 feels like it is predicting the geopolitical moment of the future well. The “villains” become almost stock and just personifications of the immediate post 9-11 period. The underlying politics of hegemonic rescue, control, influence, interference are fascinating

And yeah man, it’s hard to escape the thought that the “muscularity” of the game, the, has been so influential in people’s engagements with notions of war, masculinity, military supremacy to be explanations for ur current American nightmare

Gotta say, this FPS kick I’m on right now is rad as hell. It is great fun playing these incredible older games, reliving them and getting such immense pleasure from how well they hold up. I was never a COD online junkie but the single player campaigns had me in a chokehold from 2005-2016

Call of Duty 4 done once again. Not surprised per se but more awed at how well MW1 holds up. Gameplay is a given, still plays beautifully, and the design and set pieces still astonish. The narrative feels both of that GWOT era firmly yet still fresh. Much of the sentiment of the game is prescient

Honestly, for places that allow right turns reds, I think that situation is more fraught, tense and anxiety inducing. Drivers not line up, do lot wait their turn, will do everything they can to squeeze through for their turns to save a few seconds and constantly encroach on any space a cyclist takes

Boo!-per Lund@cooperlund.online

Every good cyclist on the road knows that the most dangerous thing you’re going to routinely encounter is a car trying to turn left. The crazy thing is that it’s worse on a one way street with a protected bike lane. They just don’t look!

Just a great great continuation of the story and ending that sets up something grand, that pulls you up. Interesting playing again in this current fascist moment. Cathartic to both shoot the hell put of Nazi’s and be inspired about fighting back. New order and new colossus belong in the pantheon

The steam deck summer continues with the original COD 4 modern warfare. Booting the game made me immediately vibrate with nostalgia, the hit from that drug was particulary strong. I’m surprised by how well it holds up graphically, sonically and gameplay wise. Feels as fresh as 2007.

Im doing a replay of wolfenstein the new order on it right now and god I’ve waited so long to replay this and new colossus. Pleased to say that new order is EXCELLENT on steam deck. Even more thrilled to say that new order holds up spectacularly. It’s a masterpiece of design, play and story

Finished my wolfenstein 2 replay. What a goddamn game man. Improves on new order in clean sweeping ways in visual and gameplay. The movement and shooting feel so snappy, responsive, crisp. Machine games at the peak of its powers. What a narrative too

Film you’ve watched more than six times (if you feel like sharing) Hard Mode : No Star Trek, Star wars, LOTR, any Marvel, Disney or Ghibli

The binary is what keeps people on both sides home. This time the binary has to convince republicans to stay home. But pretending like the binary isn’t the locus of the American electoral problem is naive as well.

Tom Nichols@radiofreetom.bsky.social

Right now, everyone faces a hard binary choice between authoritarianism and democracy. If you don’t think it’s a binary choice and that because of your issue or issues that both sides are the same, then you’re part of the problem.

The weather has been great, it’s been so fun to take till it everywhere I go especially to my local pub to have a couple and game in my favourite place

It’s also let me play games I’ve wanted to play that I probably wouldn’t have until much later. Mina the Hollower and Mouthwashign were perfect handheld experiences. Playing final fantasy XIII and XIII-2 on it convinced me that those are PERFECT handheld games and experiences

🎶 The wheels are falling of the bus, off the bus, off the bus The wheels are falling off the bus Too bad it’s too late for us 🎶

Doesn’t this prove the point though? Ottawa is a place where you can’t tell people you’re about to have fun in case that fun either bothers them or worse still, interests them enough to participate and ends up creating community, obligations and small talk.

The more time passes, the more and more intrigued I get by marvel tokon fighting souls. The game just keeps looking better and better and I’ve almost convinced myself it’s worth buying. Was planning on gettting the Avatar TLAB fighting game too but now it’s a serious choice on what to go with…

My entire group chat is dying in hysterics over that 3rd Belgium goal. The forever vibe is fuck the US. Such joy from everyone at watching the US lose a game they were dominating
