I draw things. I 3D model things! Architecture enthusiast! I used to do outer space things. Now I do software things.

Here's a bit of a slower fly-through of the world! I added a few seconds of linger time in different areas so yall can see stuff a bit better. I modeled all the interior/exterior bits. I imported most of the plants (tho I modeled the aspens)

vrchat.com/home/world/w... I'm pretty much done updating this architecture world in VRChat, featuring the 1973 "Douglas House" that I modeled. Lots of things to discover! I added most of the things in the past month. Tons of interactive stuff to find.

I've been slowly finishing up that VRChat world from ages ago. I intend to finish it this month. Here's a teaser shot. Based on an IRL place. SO MANY BUILT-INS to model X_X

Architecture is one of my main obsessions outside drawing. However, I’m less inclined to spam everyone pics of the archviz stuff I’m working on. I feel like it would look like endless room pictures.

It’s so strange. I used to desire going to cons, but now I struggle to get the interest to do so. I think overall stress has just wholly disengaged me from the mad rush of room lotteries. Demand just way too high to even wanna look forward to something I’ve gotta lottery for over and over.

Forgetting to render the reflection probes in Unity before uploading a VRChat world is like posting a pic I drew where I forgot to draw the tail. Similar frequency!

I wanna buy things at dealer’s dens but I don’t wanna hold up the flow of traffic by thinking a microsecond too long so I tend to keep walking. I’ve seen how bothered people get by being slow, especially in recent years.

Denfur is such a strange con from my perspective. I live in Denver, yet I basically never hear about it. I'm even building a vrchat world featuring it (that's been on hold for a bit), but yeah, convo just never comes up about it until about riiight before.

This was fun for practicing varying blackpoints. e.g. no "multiply" or "dodge" layers used here. Just direct color blending and brush strokes

Oh yeah I've also been looking for 3D face tracking solutions for OBS using mac, which don't require subscription. crossover + VSeeface only transfers head poses but not expressions.

Oh yeah I’ve been drawing again, just haven’t been too keen on the social media landscape. But I do have an art channel :3 VR has been good inspiration for new pics.

This shows the complete uselessness of the Apple Watch. Wish to add a playlist? WELL NOW, don't be so hasty there! You must submit your internet connection to the Apple Gods and they will decide when it is most appropriate to begin downloading :P (connected to charger, same wifi network, no success)

The suggestions are hilarious too. One person says "Disable bluetooth and it will work!" and another person says "Specifically make sure bluetooth is enabled first!" It's all so silly. Apple's handling of music is soooooooo bad. It's the worst user experience.

More fun Apple trivia: did a device not successfully resume your last play session when you tell it to “play”? And you don’t purchase music from iTunes? Congratulations, now you get to listen to U2’s “The Miracle” and no, you are not allowed to remove this from your library.

Why? Because in 2014, Apple pushed the “Songs of Innocence” album onto everyone’s iTunes account, because they could. So if your music library of purchased iTunes music is empty, it will ALWAYS default to this album, giving you a nice wet willy every time it happens.

So, what started out as "I would like to run, I should use my Apple watch to play locally-stored music" has turned into: "All of my local music is now deleted and I have to restore from my computer" This is so stupid.

The irony is not lost on me that an apple watch has cost me hours and hours of time. Most of my work now is attempting to not throw it out a window at full force.

If your primary music consumption method is via streaming, Apple devices work great. If it isn't? Ohhh boy, you get to see all the dumb stuff Apple does. I've been spending the last 2 hours trying to get a single playlist of my own music to load and play from my watch. Endless "sync" issues.

I am learning my lesson in real time that my purchase of an Apple Watch was a terrible, awful mistake. The only way to fix this playlist-sync issue is to "pair as a brand new watch" just awful.

Hahaha just kidding, apparently even setting it up as a brand new watch doesn't fix whatever tomfoolery Apple has decided to implement. Still can't download and play a SINGLE mp3 of mine. Wild stuff.

The worst part of Unity for Windows: this takes just 1 second on apple silicon. You better not accidentally nudge something on a large prefab!

General question: Does anyone remember Arcroto/DreamingWanderer? An excellent artist who got me interested in animating using TVPaint and in simplifying characters. Here's a collab we did based on a husky photo years ago. I've not seen them in a while. I'm hoping they're ok!

Activeworlds was "second life with unlimited land that hosts your environments forever" Hundreds of thousands of people built on a 3-D contiguous landscape that's 6% larger than California. Avatars were very limited, so the means of expression was architecture and city building. This is goin in VRC

These screenshots are of such an unbelievably small part of the entire world I can't begin to emphasize (wouldn't even be a single pixel in the full map), yet even this part would take hours to explore in VRC. Even this old google maps screenshot (tiny red dot = images above) is waaaay zoomed in.

I've been experimenting with very large Blender imports of the stuff we made in "activeworlds". Definitely at the limits of what this computer can take. I also made another world depicting just a tiny section of the player spawn for "SW City" which was the largest contiguous city from this platform.

MacOS clip a screen recording: use the native tool like we've done for years. Microsoft: hAvE yOu tRiEd CLIPCHAMP? We absolutely love CLIPCHAMP's mandatory OneDrive integration! CLIPCHAMP only lets you have your video once it FIRST uploads to OneDrive 🤡 OneDrive is definitionally malware now.

"Just delete the file afterwards!" No can do! Such a thing does not immediately clear your OneDrive space. The files you have do not correlate to the space being used. The space you take up will "linger" for a while, statistically long enough to extort you out of some additional subscription fees.
