Someone told me once that regardless of degree completed, a "Physicist" is just one who studies physics. In that context, I like to think of myself a physicist moreso than any of my other professions or skills. Which are humorous in number at this point.

You ever seen Star Trek: The Wrath of Khan? Picture me as Kirk, but instead of screaming KHAN! I'm screaming PARTIAL FRACTIONS! And that's how DiffEq and the chapter on Laplace transforms is going.

In a sane world Anthropic, ChatGPT, and Gemini would have been destroyed, and anyone who helped build them incarcerated. There is no reason this can't be reality.

I propose that every ICE agent be stripped of U.S. citizenship and rendered stateless, alongside the agency's abolition. I'd love to see them all face the gallows, but when they can't fill out a form I9 and even work minimum wage, well, let's see how tough they really are.

It is not enough for you to win elections, you must also pursue accountability regardless of naysayers and cowards. The consequences need to be such that a corrupt pardon cannot undo them. Your own caucus cannot be immune, especially the likes of Chuck Schumer.

Our nation is in grave danger. But across America I’m seeing stirrings of a giant backlash. People rising up and hitting the streets. People getting out the vote. Our fight — for democracy, the rule of law, social and economic justice, and decency — is gaining ground. I believe we will win.

Radar dog loves you, and wants you to be okay. He knows things are bad, momma and poppa are stressed, but he'a doing his best to support! #dogsky #photosky #photography #nikon

If Musk, a civilian, is interfering with combat capabilities during a time of war, then as far as the nation of Ukraine is concerned, he would be an unlawful combatant. Which under LOAC is a lawful target. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Both heard and saw an owl in the backyard last night. Pretty cool stuff. Wife is pretty sure it was a barn owl, given its approximate size and our location she's probably right. Even got to see it fly down from the branch it was on, without making a sound.

Been seeing a lot of EV slop lately. Yes, I would love to go electric, but to date, an affordable EV for my use case, doesn't exist. My current vehicle is paid for, and does everything I need, which is why I bought it. Build an affordable EV that does the same without spyware, and I'm in.

A few years ago I bought a Wacom Intuos intending to use it for photo editing. I've wound up using it more for doing homework and writing equations and drawing graphs by hand. Ahh the joys of HMIs and their many applications.

It occurs to me that, apropos of the leg of journey, autists are rather adept at navigation. It's the rest of the world that needs to get on our wavelength.

Emailed one of my professors about doing my senior research project next semester, it's an interesting feeling being here after so many ups and downs starting towards a B.S. in physics back in 2015. Pacing and grade wise I'm finally on track to graduate in Spring of 2028.

I'm trying very very hard not to keep raging at the state of the world right now. Would it help if I scanned in and posted my DiffEq homework? Just as a break from the monotony? How does one alt text the solution to an entire differential equation?

For this to be corrected, every single company that took a contract for one of Trump's illegal projects, like putting his name on the Kennedy center, tearing down the East wing, or destroying public lands, must be completely liquidated, and their owners saddled with the repair bill. Consequences.

Draft dodgers who flee their home country to hide behind mommy and have severe ketamine habits should not be anywhere near weapons, and definitely don't have any insight into the "future of warfare."

The average cost of a home in the U.S. is $404,000 according to: www.offerpad.com/articles/wha... Let's assume you get coffee and breakfast at [labor law violating chain place] EVERY DAY for ~$15 a day. If you skipped your coffee/breakfast it would still take you 15 years for just a down payment.

Once more, for the folks who cannot do math. Iran did not have, and was not on the brink of creating a nuclear weapon. No amount of pontificating will change the laws of physics. So when the Republicans try to martyr themselves over losing congress, remind people they are either lying, or stupid.

Boonie hats, and an M14 that doesn't look like it's seen much dirt yet, I'd estiamte the roll to be from 1960. Not the 60s as a decade, but literally the year 1960. Aight, I'ma stop thinking about the state of the world for a bit and bust out the Leica M6. Lord knows I could use the respite.

doing some more scanning tonight, here are a few more photos that i thought were pretty neat

What we the people actually want to know is exactly what is your caucus' plan to strip him and his family of all, and I mean every blood soaked cent, of this stolen wealth? And just as important, how you plan to make the American people whole.

Robert Reich@rbreich.bsky.social

Trump is planning to host a third gala for the top investors of his $TRUMP crypto coin. He and his family have raked in $2.2 billion from their crypto ventures, while their investors have lost almost the same amount. They’ll fleece anyone they can — even their own supporters.

I can't stop the bull-dozers at Big Bend, but @repsuhas.bsky.social I fully expect you to pursue consequences for everyone involved in this fiasco, all the way down to the drivers. No reasonable or sane person engages in, or facilitates destruction like this.

Who on the feed knows about Tektronix oscilloscopes? Like if I buy a 3 series MDO with the function generator already installed, is everything else after that just software upgrades that I can buy if I need later?

I just want to be able to do scientific research and make enough to afford my mortgage while occasionally going to a nice park where I can enjoy clean air and clean water, and be able to see a doctor without facing financial ruin.

Dear @duckworth.senate.gov If one of your subordinates were a serial pedophile rapist, who prostrated themselves before the adversary, repeatedly violated the constitution, made terroristic threats, and engaged in illegal financial fraud, would you allow them to save face? Asking for America.

Part of the trouble is that you and your ilk do not properly brand them, and hunt them down as the mass murderers they are. The correct lens with which to view United Health executives would be to imagine a Josef Mengele whose motive is pure profit instead of eugenics.

Elizabeth Warren@warren.senate.gov

John Oliver is right: One huge company shouldn’t own your doctor, your insurer, and your pharmacy – AND get to squeeze every penny out of you at each step.

This year marks the first year in probably over a decade that I've spent literally nothing at REI. Their CEO has not stepped down, their behavior has not changed. They are still killing what was once a third space. I've still got a dividend, so do I use it take my ball, and go home?

Wish a full speed hydraulic bollard to the groin of whoever at Pearson decided to include graphs that make me hold a straight edge up to the screen to see how the dot lines up with the scale.

My fellow Americans; Putting a pause on flock/axon cameras, is not a reason to re-elect someone because they "finally listened." Trying (let alone doing) to install them in the first place however, is a reason to convict them of treason. Please remember this when you enter the ballot box.

For those curious, I'm a 3rd year physics undergrad student, and I've taken something of a shine to biophysics. That and being a licensed radio operator I have discovered this work: www.cell.com/current-biol... Dr. Granger's work focuses on natural interference, not anthropogenic.

cell.comGray whales strand more often on days with increased levels of atmospheric radio-frequency noiseEvidence from live gray whale strandings suggests that their navigation may be disrupted by increased radio frequency noise generated by solar storms, suggesting the potential for magnetoreception in ...

On one hand I understand, social media is rather toxic. On the other I have recently found the work of Dr. Jesse Granger on magnetoreception in wildlife and how RF signals may be disruptive of it, I want to learn more, but emailing someone about their research unsolicited feels weird?

We're going to need hundreds if not thousands of paralegals to help prosecute every member of this administration guilty of treason. Vote for progressive candidates, create jobs, and do public service at the same time. We're also going to need a lot of carpenters and hemp farmers.

Your momentary escape from the madness, Timber dog. Don't leave without giving him head pats, he will cry. If you're lucky you can catch him blowing bubbles in his water bowl. #photography #dogsky

The GoP is fighting to rig the midterms and keep people from voting like their lives depend on it... Almost as though they fear that their actions will subject them to some sort of consequences, as if they feel... guilty of something.
