Because biology is complex, identity must be self-known. Because identity is self-known, the law must protect it. Because the law protects it, society must avoid discrimination. And because discrimination harms, empathy becomes the rational stance.

This is my entrance into a fight for the rights of the trans community. This is a summary on my thoughts on gender identity being protected under the 1st Amendment. Point VI being important as a main argument of overreach.

I do not cheer this, I do not mourn this. In a world filled with hate and intolerance, I hope that education, empathy, and understanding silence those words, not a bullet. I fear the repercussions that the Right will rain down. I regret that this might be a catalyst for more violence. Be safe.

I wear trans colors just about everywhere I go. I do this not just for the love of my community, but to show those who mask and repress that there is a future. That I am an ally to other LGBTQ+ members. That we are not invisible. I wear trans colors because my fear can’t be controlled.

I have worked for over 25 years in healthcare. Public hospitals, federal hospitals. One key piece of hospitals is payments. When we cut Medicare we cut payments to the hospitals. Claims go down, staff gets laid off. People will lose jobs and hospitals will close. This will become a health crisis.
