#MaintenanceMonday With fall rains on the way, we finished replacing two failing culverts underneath SR 706 near Mount Rainier National Park last weekend. We had to close the road overnight to do the work. Why? Because when a culvert fails we have to dig up the road, and under it, to make the fix.

Repairs update on the SR 16 Tacoma Narrows Bridge to Gig Harbor. The worst part of the old joint has been removed. We're prepping the area to install the new piece. Expect long PM commutes until work is done. Check our flickr album for more pics. www.flickr.com/photos/wsdot...
