Hello everyone, I thought I would share this high-quality picture of a toad from my journey in the cemeteries as of late. I tried to get a couple of the nope ropes (snakes) but they all slithered away. Silly danger noodles.

Sitting in the living room nursing a suddenly sore back, and I am thinking of Tali from Mass Effect as the first character I ever romanced in a video game. It makes sense in retrospect, I would get the hots for a Eastern European accented nerdy girl from a nomadic culture that obsesses over machines

Hi Bluesky, I am sorry I don't post much (but reply infrequently) but I wanted to share that today I helped put this old gravestone back to rights in one of the cemeteries I work at today. Granted it's supposed to be taller but now we remember Dr. Luther Bugbee, who rests underneath a tree :)

In this time of political chaos and with the stupidity turned up to 11, I am reminded that for a long time now I just want to be part of the afterguard on a racing yacht. I just hope I can still afford to do so someday.

I wonder if I can ask everyone who sees this post to think a good thought for me as I am hoping for some positive news soon that will dramatically and positively alter the trajectory of me and my family's life. You don't have to like or comment. Just think a good thought and maybe

You know, working in cemeteries ain't that bad. The rmtenants are pretty quiet and nobody bothers you but sometimes the family makes a decision almost 200 years ago that really doesn't make your life any easier. That's a days work fixing that there.

I am jealous of the people I know that are creative machine-guns. They just wake up, get ideas, write, draw, paint, work on their stuff. Creatively, I feel like a battleship. Ponderous, but when it comes tome to do the thing it's over in a half hour.

One time I went to the museum where I had a job and saw an airplane parked on the floor. Got inspired to write, and wrote a while researched article in one afternoon, cleaned up by midday the next day. It's an awesome feeling, though infrequent

This dude (First Sea Lord John Arbuthnot Fisher, 1st Baron Fisher, GCB, OM, GCVO, or Jacky Boy for short) climbs up on me, sheds fur all over my clothes, then passes out like I'm made of bed or something. He's cute tho so I guess I'll let him get away with it

I wake up every day, take my Adderall, heat up my food that I take it with, and await, with the same level of existential dread as one may wait for the boom after the engine of a V-1 shuts off, the news that the country I love is continuing to slide to authoritarian oblivion.

I'm ready to resist, where I live will likely be one of the last holdouts for overt resistance, but its the waiting, it's the watching, it's deciding if staying to resist is the correct choice, or if expatriating is the wiser move. Einstein or Schindler?

On the occasions I'm not out doing Cemetery stuff, I'm in the office, digitizing records. During this time, I listen to/watch random shows and lately it's been The Day After, The Final Broadcast, Countdown to Looking Glass. Man, I think I need to calm down on thr nuclear nightmare stuff

Something fucky is afoot in Russia. Over the last 10 hours or so there's been at least 10 messages sent out on the Former UVB-76 "Buzzer" numbers station. The last time this level of traffic was noted, Russia invaded Ukraine.

You know, I love snow. I love the cold. I don't love being out in the snow and cold at God knows what hour of the darkness plowing snow. And yet we are looking at 3 major weather events here in a week and I just want to have a weekend

if I had a dollar for every typo I've forced my phone to make over the yerars because I was tired of it autocorrecting to something else completely outrageous on bluesky, I'd have about... *checks post count* 14 dollars!

To the Ukranians that may see this post, I hope I don't have to tell you that anyone with enough brain cells to rub together knew Tulsi Gabbard was a poor choice for her position. I can't believe, as an American, I have to be associated with these Morongo against my will for the foreseeable future

My heart goes out for the friends and family of the people aboard the two aircraft that collided over the Potomac tonight. I hope answers will be found quickly, and that the NTSB is still getting funded to find those answers

I cannot condone doing this in the workplace *all at once,* however I can't argue against a couple of these actions every now and again as a little treat.

Suddenly, out of nowhere, a declassified World War II-era CIA guide to sabotaging fascism in the workplace has become one of the most popular free ebooks on the internet: www.404media.co/declassified...

I don't need to say this is despicable, I will say that this is purchasing back soldiers loyal to your cause from the bottom up.

Full back pay. These slime disobeyed a legal order over conspiracy theories. This shits on the good men and women who did their duty all these years. Simply disgusting. thehill.com/policy/defen...

Me, a person who foremostly refers to themself as a military historian, working for a cemetery in a small town in Massachusetts, scanning very old burial permits: wow, there seems to be a lot of these from the 1916 to 1918 range....I wonder wh- Oh.

If 47 is such a successful businessman it perplexes me why he continues to think tariffs are apparently his only economical option to put pressure on countries that he doesn't like. It's like going "oh yeah? Well until it's better I'm going to fire this pistol into my foot!"

Hasn't anyone who might be able to bend his ear been able to pinch through the (admittedly thick) layer of stupid and tell the guy that's not how they really work in the context he wants them to?

Tom Morello was right. And now, we are living in the bonafide Rage Against the Machine era. It is time to organize. Our government is not failing us, it is actively trying to destroy us. #ResistForRealThisTIme

Last weekend I decided that in the current state of things, I was going to stop giving certain amounts of fucks about things, and I painted my nails. Black, of course, I love black. But then I realized that I could do something like paint the UA flag on them. So I did. Be yourself.

As an addendum, it has also given me the confidence to be the gremlin I reserve for the internet. A coworker was glancing at my nails the other day and I said "do you think I'm pretty?" In the most work-appropriate way I could manage. It's fun.

Does anyone else mentally shorten "Bluesky" to "Bisky" due yo how the handles are laid out? Like I'm "Tactical Oni dot bisky dot social" in my head. TacticalBisky sounds like a 6 year old English child trying to swipe a cookie, on a side note. Good morning!
