#hualian reverse age!gap, jaded arts professor tsundere!HC and student model XL CW: scars (I've written too much fluff lately, and my mind rebels lol) “That’s enough for today,” Hua Cheng says finally, setting the brush aside. In his seat, Xie Lian blinks as if coming out of a reverie,

I am trying so hard to post a chapter of the sky between night and day before Halloween but it was literally a 20k chapter I’ve been editing for three months. It’s down to 13k now but still a behemoth of things need to be cut for the alternating pov not to disrupt the flow

I always love the deepavali display at this mall at this time of year, they make it soooo intricate. All hand done with coloured grains of rice!!!! Insane

Saw some shitpost on ig like “yeah I’ve kissed my own shoulder during an intense jackoff session, so what” and now I’m thinking about hc watching xl through holes in his door as he touches himself and catching this happening and only avoiding spontaneous combustion by a split hair

And so the moving chaos begins this week. I’m going to really prioritise sleep and my basic needs so that I don’t lose my shit over the next four days

I opened the curtains and for the first time in three months, I looked out my window and saw a clear sky without haze Wow I stood there staring in awe for a few minutes

Hmm it’s becoming one of those days where I feel like everyone and everything is avoiding me because they secretly resent me hmmmm. Hmm. Hm. How do I reset this feeling

I’ve been trying a habit of not using my phone for the first hour of the day and god damn it is especially noticeable when I do. This fucking device dude

I saw multiple typos in someone’s Chinese on their danmei merch. Please. Please if you don’t know Chinese fluently, just ask someone to check it. Even I would ask someone more fluent than me in Chinese to check mine and I write better than most Chinese-as-third-language speakers.

In part, I place the blame on the ENG VA of Hua Cheng for mispronouncing Xie Lian’s name—but that is a whole ‘nother can of worms. TLDR; names are basic respect. There are MANY guides on how to pronounce the TGCF character names on YouTube / back of the books + there’s the wiki.

Additionally, I don’t know how to properly pronounce Jun Wu or Yin Yu’s name. Nevermind ‘Quan Yizhen’ that is HARD. But they’re not my favourite characters. If they were, I’d probably know.

I try sooo hard not to be offended by shit like this but I can’t say it doesn’t feel weird that there is an overwhelming majority of people who don’t bother to learn how to properly pronounce Xie Lian’s name, or misspell a character’s name when writing in Chinese. Feels very neglectful/disrespectful

And I want to emphasize that Chinese is NOT my first nor second language. I find it incredibly difficult to memorize my colleagues and friends Chinese names. English names are hard enough—two syllable Chinese ones? INCREDIBLY. And yet. Names are the first form of respect, so I practice it and learn.
