the iphone duo might be the only new tech that has any new use for me once I can use it as a pocketable drawing tablet other than that I don’t think there’s any tech from the last 10 years that can’t accomplish the same stuff as tech nowadays like PC games are just fancy ps5 and switch games

In a way it’s kind of exciting, you get to mix and match based on your needs and potentially save a bunch of money in the process (minus the iphone lol)

a handful of the gaming channels I watch that I would of originally said were informative and pro game dev have turned into vibe coded channels and it’s such a bummer

this style of video isn’t really present in gaming youtube (which may be good or bad depending on your perspective) so there’s actually a reasonable chance my audience hasn’t come across this but pretty much any other topic will have their mouse click + jaunty marimba smart sounding breakdown music

If you overly rely on mouse clicks on your video to sound smarter I immediately don’t trust your amount of smartness like why do you feel the need to manipulate me

I tend to find the smartest videos on youtube are often very basic and barely edited because the person is good at what they’re smart at instead of being good at manipulating youtube

(if you didn’t know, mouse clicks are the subway surfers of smart people videos specifically to both keep your attention and make the speaker sound smarter)

can’t everyone in the industry strike or something just agree on next tuesday

collabing with people is how you grow but i only want to collab for funsies not the really forced feeling back and forth promotion stuff which basically means I don’t collab lol

I loved listening to this dude talk about looney tunes on top of hearing him voice them very sad

Eric Bauza died at his home yesterday from hypertensive cardiovascular disease, according to Los Angeles County Medical Examiner records.

don’t have very many opportunities to talk about this, but looney tunes was my pokemon before pokemon my first obsession went out of my way to see the day the earth blew up

I hate politics but there’s not a bigger turn off than someone saying they don’t know anything because they stay out of politics

the prettiest most talented girls I have ever had a crush on immediately lose all admiration from me you might as well say your racist or transphobic tbh lol

In the same vein, people who have strongly held opinions about caring about others or are unabashedly themselves in the face of oppression are hot as hell like there are quite a few lesbians I have had a crush on despite fully knowing that’s not gonna work for me lol

you hate politics because you can’t be bothered to pay attention I hate politics because I pay attention to how it affects others and that bothers me we are not the same

the most I want AI to do is make sure it understands I only want the shape filled in with a color even if there’s a tiny gap in my line art

in my language class they tell students not to use AI to learn japanese because you never actually will learn how to learn so same goes for programming— sure it can maybe sometimes repeat tasks (poorly) that have already been done before, but you’ll lose to ability to program something new

So I have a very narrow view over what “tasks” I can maybe sorta justify replacing if the planet was cool with it and the future was all rainbows

the most I want AI to do is make sure it understands I only want the shape filled in with a color even if there’s a tiny gap in my line art

and I don’t think that justifies fleets of data centers poisoning the water to accomplish that, I’d rather take the 20 seconds longer to fill in that gap myself if that’s the trade off

I feel like I often land on concepts pros have already had forever, so if anyone knows what vocabulary to use to differentiate interpretation of media (infinite answers) from understanding the cultural context behind the zelda keaton mask being a nod to pokemania (specific answer) I’d appreciate it

tbh I’m tired of having to clarify what I enjoy is searching for as objective as possible cultural history and context, which exists, and that I’m not being anti interpretation by doing it knowing deadpool ends on a ferris Bueller’s Day off reference isn’t anti art *just* by knowing that lol

by knowing what the context is, you can better understand the point of a story in a way that often is out of place or confusing without that context— which is often why those moments have such wild interpretations to fill in those gaps but knowing keaton mask = pokemania gives it a ton of history

actually I’ve come to conclusion edgerunners season 2 is too smart for people because I keep seeing the take that it never resolves any stories and boy we really don’t know what show don’t tell looks like when they show instead of telling

there’s like underlying storylines the entire time that reflect real life, it’s not about the lore and video game worlds

Like resident evil 9 is amazing and extremely high quality but not interesting resident evil 7 being first person and in VR is interesting does that make sense

gaming just isn’t very interesting right now it’s not bad (well, arguably it is bad) because the games releasing are fun but it’s just not very interesting. In a positive way I do think that leaves the door wide open to stand out. The world is really small nowadays, so it’s possible to get seen.

Like I’m not knocking other games, amazing and interesting aren’t necessarily the same thing ya know Like the switch 2 is arguably the best console ever but it’s not interesting (yet, there’s potential in that second usbc port IMO)

the most interesting thing in gaming right now is probably movies and even that is hit or miss on the interesting scale

In that same vein, I think we are still living in a post-among us world, which is perfectly fine— the friendslop games are genuinely getting better and better, and should continue to refine for a long time, but I wouldn’t say that’s still broadly “interesting” when indies can literally be anything.

honestly we’ll all know when things are interesting again, it’s a collective feeling BotW, among us, the wii lol like it’s never something you have to convince others that times are interesting, even if you don’t like whatever it is, it’s just kinda known maybe gta6 will be that lol

There’s a bit of an underground feeling to the indie scene here in tokyo, and I’m sure that applies elsewhere too— which is exciting to me. I don’t think art ever permanently stagnates, so if people get bored enough the pendulum has to swing back at some point.

I just watched the middle short film of this movie collection, and it perfectly embodied modern gaming for a lot of people (it’s basically valorant battle royal)— but by perfectly being modern gaming, it simultaneously feels like the end point because it’s been “solved”. So time for something new.

watched pokemon night out and while there were some really cool parts, a lot of western pokemon media feels so surface level when directly compared to similar japanese pokemon media like project miku pretty sure there’s red tape blocking the way of truly original western pokemon media but still

night out probably appeals to the mainstream Pokemon audience rather than “Pokemon fans” but yeah it all feels very… “key art only” lol

project Miku is like “what if we made an original song with pokemon music mixed in that represents being a fan of pokemon since 1996 and eventually having our own kids who discover pokemon on their own just like us” then night out is like “here’s a unrelated song but there’s a really big gengar”

feel like this style of mine wouldn’t be too far from their usual branding (nerdy robot, simple character over real photo), and pixel art music videos are in rn like it’s not a complete long shot lol
