DO NOT COMPLY. When I'm not railing against the criminal administration and the assault on our rights, I like to talk about science fiction, Star Trek, comics, and pop culture.

Thumbing through this amazing book again, in preparation for a podcast deep dive! This book has more info on STTMP than any other I've read. Not easy to find now- look it up on Amazon 😱

Well, on this day where we lost Walter Koenig, I received 2 Hallmark Star Trek ornaments. One is a new shuttle, the one Commodore Decker took down "the throat" of the Doomsday Machine. It has a brief sound clip. The other is a recreation of the Spock AMT model that Roddenberry hated! 😆

Walter Koenig has beamed up to the cosmos. Of all the TOS actors, he may have had the best balance of appreciation for the show combined with a no BS attitude. Sad to see him go. Now all we have left are the two who don't talk to each other.

In "Peanuts," Linus first mentioned the Great Pumpkin on October 26, 1959, creating what would go on to become an indelible cultural icon. Here’s that strip, followed by the rest of that week’s dailies:

Did 3 hours of consulting, an hour of class work, and 1.5 hours work on a presentation for tomorrow. Finally plop down on the couch and hope to watch a monster movie 👾 and not a single live channel was streaming one! WTF. Watched Werewolf by Night. It was ok. But damn! Almost Halloween!!

How about a 2-part crossover? Marvel was fond of these in the Bronze Age. • John Byrne and Terry Austin covered Super-Villain Team-Up 14 (1977). • Gil Kane and Frank Giacoia covered Champions 16 (1977).

So, this sweet little guy, who I love to the moon and back, has got gall stones, and they're also impacting his liver. The dr said we may be able to treat w meds and monitor, but surgery is also an option. I hate to put him thru surgery if i don't have to. Does anyone have experience with this? Thx.

Enjoyed the 1st 2 episodes of Visionquest. Curious to see where it will go. And was that a brief reference to the android Human Torch? Would be cool to see him.

I was watching a video on old school rpgs, and it made me think of all the games me and my friends played, played once, or i bought but couldn't get anyone interested in. See alt text for which is which. What games did you and your friends play? Which ones did you want to?

I never had those cool psychotronic posters, but I did have this Jim Steranko FOOM poster for years.

Post a comics-related poster you had on your bedroom walls as a kid. Here are two of mine - Third Eye black light posters, both won by me for pitching coins at a carnival. c. early 1970s.

If you love 2001, or just have an academic interest in it, you must listen to this podcast! And check out Ayesha's other episodes. She is curating a wonderful experience of SF films thru time.

2001: A Space Odyssey mini-series starts today! 🎧 Michael Benson and Scott Bukatman talk about what is potentially the greatest sci-fi film ever.* Images. 2: The Al Williamson image referred to in the discussion. 3: Building of the Discovery centrifuge for the gravity defying scenes. Link in bio.

I like it! The bass and drums have moved up in the mix, and everything sounds sharper/clearer. The outtakes are my favorite part. Love hearing how songs develop. #Beatles

This was supposed to be my Beatles Rubber Soul Special Edition CD set. But...instead I got an empty envelope. It doesn't look like it was ever sealed. Anyway, a replacement is coming tomorrow. Tomorrow never knows. (I know, wrong album.)

Mail call: I'm feeling 10 years old again! Especially excited to have Acroyear join my little corner of the Microverse. Thanks, #Super7.

Absolutely thrilled with this glorious book on 2001:A Space Odyssey from Taschen. A beautiful presentation and wonderful photos, artwork, and behind the scenes stuff. And I haven't even read anything yet!

I know the "monster maroon" uniforms were supposedly dyed versions of the STTMP pajama uniforms, but it just clicked with me that Saavik's robe from the turbolift scene in TWOK was probably Ilia's robe, tailored slightly. #StarTrek

Watching Spock mind meld with the probe inside V'Ger, and my photos captured an image of Ilia on Spock's face as he screams. The visuals in STTMP, especially the director's cut, are outstanding.
