Enjoy the holidays. 🎅 Take time off. And you don´t miss anything important. Rest or work. Do what you enjoy. However one thing I can tell you. Even a simple message could work as marketing. Posted my idea to Reddit and over days new people signing up. If you don´t post. Nobody will come.

Think my writing style is not good for social media. As an example. Which would you prefer? The moment I stop spamming Fiidbakk sign ups stop vs. The moment I stop posting about Fiidback sign ups stop ?

2.6% this is how much my landing page converts. I have done CRO for quite a lot of $. Websites are my bread and butter. If I know something in life then its web design. Sometimes, in social media. I lose confidence. But know. You do good. And you can always improve. I will.

I don´t like cross posting between here and X. But this is on my time today doing the lowkey #buildinpublic Wondering if one Figma variable set should rule these 3. Or should I keep it separated right away.

As a designer I like indie ideas or working with other indie founders. Just because its fun to see things live. People using. Or even not using. Weather when you design something for clients. You might think that after nearly 2 years its dead. But now. They will start implementing next year.

Do customers want painkillers? Perhaps it's true. Or atleast this we have found out when building Fiidbakk. We can´t give falsified promises that you get life changing feedback however I can tell that actually you get both painkiller comments and vitamins. #buildinpublic Read ⏬

🍋 Surprisingly people like to leave comments. At least on our site to test it. We learned that our name sucks. We still need to figure out what blablabla means and whether Test1 is good or bad feedback. Also, we discovered what was confusing — and got ideas on how to build a better widget.

Painkiller 💊 We build fast. And landing page is my job. I f### it up. As an example, our CTA wasn´t working. Luckily our widget worked. Did we lose sign-ups? I would lie if I said yes. But with higher traffic, it could mean thousands of $ lost.

Design is easy lets decide something. Or I will decide. Told that to multiple clients. But making the decisions for your own app is much much harder. #buildinpublic

I admit. Hearing the feedback can be rough. For fiidbakk.com we get both helpful and critical comments that don´t help at all. I felt disappointed. Tried to fight back. But now I just consider it idea and UX validation. Its a win that people comment. We know how to fix bad comments.

Went bit spammy in X. Will they ban me? Hopefully not. Shadow ban? Don´t know. But I rather talk publicly about what I am believing and building then hiding in cold DMs. Yet, somehow you need to get eyes to your product. So here is advice. Go promote your product today. #buildinpublic

Often I think where is the line for "fake it til you make it". My clients get always creative ideas how to look bigger, more trustworthy. But ... Should I add this section to my landing page? #buildinpublic Or testimonials from early adaptors who say what I want?

Should have added TC-s. Won´t upsell you my widget. Won´t upsell my services. So it is bloody bad offer or you just don´t care or are scared to make your site better? Or didn´t see. Which is it?

Happy Friday #buildinpublic I want to but years of practice into good use and help you further. Post your website link and I give you ~3 UI/UX or Strategy pointers how to make it even better. 🚀

I like to look at things realistically. And numbers allow that. In 2022, the EU's business economy was made up of over 32 million active enterprises. And getting t.001% of these is more than enough.

I see lots of times people saying that indie businesses don´t need to look good. Let me ask this way. Which indie businesses (< 5 people) you know that are really crafted and polished? #buildinpublic

Old marketing truth. People need to see your product 5-7 times until they buy it. Usually. Think about this if you want instant results. I am 100%. And ideally every time you show your product you build trust bit by bit.

Don’t give discounts… lightly. What do I know? Not much about indie hacking. But from my own behavior? A bit. Agency/client stories? Some insights. Follow along if you want to understand my thinking. ⏬ #buildinpublic

B2B = real money. That indie client? They might land a big job someday. If your business looks strong, they could invite you in. If not? They’ll pick the enterprise alternative. Position yourself as a reliable long-term partner, not a "discount" side gig.

Think long-term. Your product's value isn’t about offering best price. It’s about solving a need. Build it well, position it right, and your customers will come. The hard-earned cash is worth more than easy wins. Go for the reward that lasts. 🚀

I look at my behavior: I use Adobe. Every year, I ask for a discount. Paying €30 more won’t bankrupt my agency, but I feel like: "Why not? Others get it." Feels like their real price. Discounts can shift perceptions of your product’s value—dangerous long term.

Trying to get that $1 in a side business? Go for it. That indie $7 felt as good as a 5-figure agency invoice. Sales are a rush. If you’re playing the long game, avoid discounts lightly. People wait for them. They might see your product as a “side hustle,” not a serious business.

I also felt tempted by Black Friday listing sites. Messaged my co-founder: “Can we…?” Post DesignCritique just to get traffic. Perhaps a sale or two. Help someone, get better. Still, most won't see the real value. They get it based on FOMO.

I think I overdid it with slides. T -60 min until a first new client meeting in live for over a year. Remote is cool but will see how it vibes in the same room again.

You are up to date.
