18th - 24th October is Invisible Disabilites Week. You dont have to discuss your medical history but sometimes its helpful to let people know that additional help, time or space may be needed. That is where the Hidden Disability Sunflower comes in. claredoodles.etsy.com

Your chronic illness flaring up is boring and exhausting. Your body choosing violence sounds way more like an epic fantasy quest. A hand-painted bookmark with the phrase "It's not a flare: My body chose violence", with a sword dripping blood. Available at: claredoodles.etsy.com

Postcards for PoTS takes place on Friday if you are nearby go have a look and possibly pick up some art for a great cause. I have donated 2 postcards. I cant show which are mine just yet but whos will you get?

Ableism exists all over the place, whether it's systemic, internalised or cultural even though it has no place in the world. The fight for the rights of disabled people goes on. This hand-painted badge states "Ableism Bugs Me!" alongside a painted ladybird and is available at: claredoodles.etsy.com

Getting lost in a good book is great, but it can lead you to forget to take your medication. This bookmark acts as a reminder and makes a great gift for yourself or the bookish person in your life. Hand-painted in watercolour and ink, this bookmark is available at: claredoodles.etsy.com

I am taking part in Postcards For POTS, a Secret Postcard fundraiser. I have donated 2 postcards, which will be displayed anonymously and sold to raise money for @ukpots.bsky.social This will take place online and in person at 107 Canterbury Road, Folkestone, on Friday 9th October, 2-8 pm.

This article talks about how women are becoming 'sickfluencers' and are turning chronic illness into a lifestyle. These people are actally providing a safe space for advice and support because society, drs and pricks like this are so determined to ignore and ridicule. Fuck off!

This is shameful discriminatory and misogynistic reporting. People aren’t choosing disability to be “cool”. Young women don’t have to “prove” to you that they’re sick. Disability rates are skyrocketing because we’ve left a disabling virus rip through the population for over 6 years.

Ah yes, back to school season where parents freely tell the whole internet their kids names, interests, schools and class teachers alongside their picture like its a normal thing to do.

If you feel the need to tell someone that they "dont look ill" or "dont look disabled" please remember that this may be the first time in days, weeks or months that they have felt well enough to be out the house and they dont need your shit. Happy Disability Pride Month

Some disabilities and chronic illnesses are not immediately visible to others. To help with this, the Hidden Disability Sunflower was introduced in 2016. It is a discreet way to indicate to others that a person may need additional time and support while out and about. claredoodles.etsy.com

How hard is it for people to understand why the numbers of people with disabilites has gone up in the past 5 or 6 years. Hmmm maybe it has something to do with a FUCKING PANDEMIC! Peoples desire to forget this is insulting.

There are so many misconceptions around PIP at the moment; posts like this don't help. Just so you know. A diagnosis is not enough to qualify; you must prove how it impacts your life. It may seem easy to get money, but the process is complicated, inaccessible and will emotionally destroy you.

The crapness of accessories for mobility aids fills me with so much rage. Designs so dull even the retirement homes dont want them. No colour anywhere. Plus they are made of materials that look like they could both fall appart at any time and outlive the death of the universe. Fucking why?
