Discovery+, one of the streamers now owned by David Ellison’s media monopoly Skydance, hiked its prices exactly one week after the merger officially closed. Employees have already been told to expect layoffs — while top executives received pay bumps. Monopolies are only good for the monopolists.

Billionaire families have spent $1.7 BILLION on the 2026 midterms so far — a 5,200% increase since the 2010 midterms. Citizens United is among the worst decisions in history. It corrupts our system every day. Big Money is the root of our dysfunction.

With AI being shoehorned into every-god-damn-thing, I'm kinda glad my phone is ancient in relative terms. I'm a couple generations too old to even run the new Siri or the other AI features, so I don't have to worry about it. I'm keeping this phone until it falls apart. I hate Siri either way.

Just helping with editing here. These bots aren’t sentient. They’re doing what they’re programmed to do. OpenAI, a private company supposedly bound by laws, committed federal crimes.

Just went to a website to check out a company. I went to their "FAQ" page just to be greeted by an AI chatbot interface. Before asking questions, it wanted me to click a box to prove I am not a bot... I simply closed the window. The future is absurd.

I don't know why I got SO excited while reading this article. It's new science. It's cool as fuck. It's science that will tell us who-knows-what about ourselves. It's hope. It's possibility. It's a sign that there is human ingenuity happening, even while the world's most powerful people fight it. 🤯

I think a lot of Americans are Islamophobic because they don’t want Muslims to end up in control and treat Christians the way Christians treat everyone else.

Kroger, which wants to buy yet ANOTHER grocery chain: -Ranks among the largest companies with employees dependent on Medicaid & SNAP -Paid its CEO $14M last year, 417x its median worker's pay of just $34,552 -Spent $12.3B on stock buybacks since 2019 This is what corporate greed looks like.

The cyclospora outbreak has reached 13,895 cases across 47 states. The FDA has recalled 1.6 million eggs due to salmonella contamination. Screwworm cases continue to rise. And we’ve just surpassed 2,500 measles cases — breaking 2025’s record. “Make America Healthy Again.”

Went to WM on our vacation to pick up a $6 charging cable. Had to ask for assistance because it was locked in a case. Went a couple aisles over and they have RTXes & AMD processors (in paper boxes) on the shelf with those (easily bypassed) spider wires & 2TB M.2s (also in paper boxes) on peg hooks…

The Fun Pimps (and Behavior?) just don't know how to ride a wave of positive feedback. 3.0 had reviews climbing back up then they had to go and harass a content creator. I hope they either sincerely apologize & restore Josh or they go out of business. Either way, leadership needs changed. @bhvr.com

I don’t think anyone on the “far left” ever liked the guy to begin with. If they think we need someone just like him, they certainly aren’t far left…

My favorite over the past 24 hours is the type of far-left guy who has his arms crossed over his chest, clearly pissed, and is like: "Well, they had BETTER choose someone just like Platner to replace him." Babe, that's not how this works. This ain't a restaurant. There is no menu present.

someone was explaining Chinese labor law on reddit the other day w/ this and I had to screenshot it because it just seems so totally unreal

A key reason people in China are more receptive to AI than in America is that the courts there have ruled that you can't just lay people off because Claude can now do research and write code. You need a better reason than that. In America, CEOs can't wait to get rid of "low value human capital".

There literally used to be several apps that would turn your windows desktop into a virtual environment for Windows 95/98. We used to be civilized.

every desktop environment sucks so i just started using minecraft as my desktop environment

Don’t you hate it when someone says something absolutely asinine on here but they turn off replies? How strongly do you believe what you said if you’re not willing to defend it against criticism? If I’m wrong, I’d rather know about it.

Holy crap. This is the most damning video yet. It shows Border Patrol agents clearly taking Alex's firearm, running it away, and THEN executed him in cold blood by emptying a clip into his face. Murder.

@ec.europa.eu @who.int I don't know what orgs to tag, but please, other countries, sanction the hell out of the US. The downfall of our democracy will not slow until the oligarchs feel it in their wallets. Stop trading with the US. Ignore our reps. Cut us off because internal pressure isn't working.
