Doug Cameron:”In my view it is now clear that AUKUS is about militarising Australia in interests of the US, ensuring the grifters in defence and the arms industry are well fed. It is an act of self-harm and madness on the part of the Australian government.” #auspol

Let this sink in… The skull had been taken to a local pub, where people used it as a communal ashtray, because they believed the remains belonged to an Aboriginal child. Their disgust and remorse only surfaced when they discovered that the skull belonged to a murdered white girl.

Horrified to hear of the apparent attack on my friend and colleague Helen Haines. Helen is an extraordinary human being and brings people together like few others. In grief and solidarity wishing her a complete recovery.

Well, I had four novels in the top ten ABC Radio National top 100 books and 8 all up. Pretty happy with that, although why I didn't choose Boy Swallows Universe, I don't know. #books #reading #booksky

"They're really good dogs." Except that they attacked a man and now he's in hospital with serious injuries. The council don't really have much choice. She's living in a tent with no realistic way of keeping them under control.

Disgraceful but not surprising. Membership of a union was only mentioned for the lady working in construction. What were the conditions of their employment contracts? Is maternity leave covered? Hardly anyone belongs to a union these days. The employers didn't want to cover maternity leave.

Nice to see a positive story on the government's negative gearing and CGT reforms. It's giving some people a chance to buy a home. The reforms are working to an extent. Let's hope values come down a further. #auspol

Could journalists actually do some journalism? It wasn't that long ago the Greens were perfectly happy to remove the private health insurance rebate from over 65s, including pensioners. Go back a few years and look at their policy on it. I posted it yesterday. #auspol

Surprise, surprise. Rockliff lied when he said Tasmania's contribution would be capped at $875M. If Bec Thomas was stupid enough to believe him, she should resign and apologise for her part in this debacle. Rockliff should piss off as well. #politas
