Like most of us, I base much of my current reality on what happened in the past. The last time I talked to a Quinnipiac pollster, I spent 10 minutes explaining that Hillary was OK, but that I really despised Trump. I then hung up the land line, and haven't heard from them since.

I turned on MS NOW, and immediately said to myself out loud "oh, the President's on" and smiled. Barack Obama is in Ohio showing how it's done.

I completed my mail in ballot this afternoon, with joy and trepidation. Optimism and pessimism. Hope and fear. That's how it is when you live in Florida.

This morning, I got on Blue Sky as usual, but today seems different. I like everything! I've been putting little hearts on memes and clever sayings more than I ever do. Maybe it's because the quality of the posts is better. Or, maybe it's because I got 9 hours of sleep last night...

At this moment, Trump is addressing the United Nations (you can tell by the green marble background). MS NOW is carrying it, but CNN is not. I don't know if he is boringly terrible or terribly boring...it appears he is reading words written by somebody else.

The great thing about the World Cup was you could pick a country to root for, even if Team USA is eliminated. College football is different. There are games, where you wish BOTH teams could lose. FSU @ Alabama is on in about an hour. To quote Mercutio; "A plague o' both your houses!"

I watched "2001-A Space Odyssey" last night on TCM...half way through, I thought that this was a cautionary tale about AI. Tell me if you think I'm wrong.

With the 25th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks coming up, I remember the mood of the country afterwards. Naturally, sadness, but with a cry for revenge against those responsible. Which is why I worry about Iranian retaliation for US bombing of schools. People are people, are they not?

The local Orlando weather guys are saying the usual afternoon thunderstorms are on the way...it's about 5 before 5, so I'm glad I don't have to do the commute.

Took a quick, but necessary, half hour nap this afternoon. I woke up with a strange thought: If there was a time traveler from the future, how would we know? You know, like a historian from 2056, who wanted to visit MAGA America. I assume he would keep a low profile.

Today is primary day, and I hate mail in ballots for a different reason than Trump does. I live in Florida, where it rains a lot in summer. The rain can sometimes seep into my mailbox and soak the letters, pre-sealing my mail-in ballot. So, it's off to my local precinct to vote.

I'm a fan of the departed show "Castle". Episode 12 of season 3 (2011) involved a wealthy guy, in trouble with the SEC, who faked his own death. A confederate snuck a dummy onto a plane, and took the bad guy off, before it exploded over the ocean. They used a catering truck to make the transfer.

I just thought of something to tell Bezos; Another Melania movie should be; "Melania 2-the Epstein Years" I'll have my people get in touch with your people.

I've seen the "conventional wisdom" evolve, if not be overturned. It was said America would never support a candidate who was black, divorced, a b-list celebrity or a convicted felon. It appears you can add "foreign sounding name" to that list. Good! We seem to be evolving.

Dr. Anthony Fauci is taking the 5th Amendment, in response to questions from Florida Senator Rick Scott. Scott oversaw what was, at the time, the largest Medicare fraud in history. His company had to pay $1.7 billion, and he himself pled the 5th amendment 75 times. Comical farce on The Hill.

I don't usually post about soccer/football, since there are plenty of people here who can do a better job. I stayed up really late last night, to watch Orlando City defeat San Jose 4-0. The newly acquired Antoine Griezmann scored a goal, and I think he'll make a positive difference.

I have RH negative blood. This is found in only 15% of the world's population, according to You Tube videos. They also say I am statistically likely to be Basque (no), Irish (yes) or a blend of Neanderthal and extra terrestrial. That last one will take more You Tube research...

Todd Blanche is about to face members of Congress. We may see a living example of a Faustian bargain...we are already seeing the need for Congressional age limits in the form of Chuck Grassley.

I tuned in MS NOW in anticipation of seeing Stephanie Ruhle. Instead, I see what looks like an old guy arguing with the staff of his assisted living facility. The same show is on CNN. The sad thing is, it will likely be newsworthy...and I hate that!

People have not been overly kind to the "is he or isn't he?" senior Senator from Kentucky...I like to think of it as practice, or a warm up, for when "you know who" shuffles off this mortal coil.

It occurs to me, Trump doesn't really give a shit about the World Cup or the USA's participation in it. He just isn't a fan. He probably believes his mobster move, to get the FIFA mobsters to rescind the Balogun suspension, will increase his popularity. What a clueless twit!

I don't mind Blue Sky putting up trigger warnings...I hope they do one for any video of Joey Chestnut eating 66 Nathan's hotdogs yesterday. Gross...especially when people are starving.

Is there a trend in menswear I'm missing? In the past week, I've seen videos of men wearing jeans with the cuffs turned up. My mom used to do that when I was a kid. There was a reporter in Boston, talking about the World Cup, and Steven Spielberg, talking about his latest movie.

I spent the better part of my afternoon, cleaning up my chat stuff, going back to late 2023! Nearly all are deleted accounts, so I can't respond to "hello, how's it going or have you heard about the Illuminati?" May I suggest, when an account is deleted, the chats are deleted as well?

Last night, I'm watching Chris Hayes on M SNOW, and he mentioned one of the overlooked beauties of the World Cup. It draws you in, even if you previously had no interest in the national teams. Later, I found myself glued to Iran and New Zealand! (a 2-2 draw).

So, I'm in Ivanhoe Park Lager House, on the trail, in Orlando, to watch the World Cup (USA beats Paraguay 4-1) I see someone who looks very familiar. It's Alex Vindman, who is running for the Senate from Florida. He is watching the match, with no obvious entourage. We speak, and I promise my vote.

Do you remember when the phrase "60 Minutes is waiting in the lobby" would strike fear in the hearts of corporate types? Did you ever think it would be said at CBS?

You can tell a lot about a person by how they spend their Sunday Mornings. Me? I walk my black Lab while the coffee is perking, then putter around the house while listening to a radio station 1,000 miles away. Irish folk, on WFUV wfuv.org/options

Now that the Lionel-less Commodores have pulled out of Trump's "State Fair", who can they get? Maybe ELO without Jeff Lynne, Jethro Tull without Ian Anderson or "Best of the Beatles", featuring Pete Best.
