#ghosts #cosplay update: My Sister sent me my Mum’s old Captain pips! The jacket is borrowed so this means I can put the slides on any random hired jacket in the future. Being short worked in my favour here as I was able to use the offcuts from the trousers that were too long. ☺️

Why is my feed suddenly 90% ladies with their tits on show trying to catch my attention? I mean, I’m not mad about it - good on them and I hope they enjoy themselves - but it’s not why I’m on this platform eh 🤷🏻‍♀️

When recovering from ankle surgery it is _not_ in fact recommended that you tear the calf muscle on the same side when demonstrating a kick at training. Recovery now slightly delayed and I will be teaching karate from a chair for a while so I’m not tempted to try more kicking and tear it further. 😕

18 years ago last night I was typing an email containing my school relief (*nnnghhhh*) for the last three days of (*nnnnghhhhh*) school totally convinced I was having Braxton-Hicks contractions. Nope. Real ones! Then the real fun began. Happy 18th my wee girl!!

And this is why! Thanks Google! (it) was written for a service on Easter Day at Hereford Cathedral, when 'only Trebles and a single Bass voice' were available. The central portion of the work, a dialogue between a treble soloist and treble chorus is flanked by passages for tenors and basses.

more... The Cathedral was in dispute with its vicars choral, who were neglecting their contractual obligations to sing at services. Anticipating that he would not have a full complement of singers, Wesley wrote ... for the boy choristers and one bass, reputedly John Constable, the Dean’s butler.

I’m singing Evensong at Wellington Cathedral tonight. I mean, in part of a massed choir so it not like you’ll be able to hear me, but yeah. Come along if you’re in town at 4pm. #welly

I applied for a PPTA teacher sabbatical the day I took my current profile pic. I wanted to remember how confident and accomplished I felt that day. I thought my proposal was excellent and well-written and felt really good about my chances. Just got notified today that I didn’t get one. So gutted.

This photo does NOT do justice to how steep this section was! But today I went on my first big walk since my #anklefusion. 10.8km and 4h 48min. Now in my bed after a lovely bath. Knackered!

Happy spoon from dessert at Rosella for hubby’s bday. Almost the perfect weight and shape; a bit more rounded on the handle end and I may have been tempted to pop it in my bag 😅

Sometime in the coming week I will find out if I get the sabbatical I’ve applied for. If not, I have wait another year to apply. It’s nerve wracking. I can’t allow myself to get excited but I so want to start planning for my bucket-list trip of a lifetime. Argh!!

I’ve bloody loved following the #SilverFerns on their #CommonwealthGames journey. So awesome to watch them win gold at last!! But also, what is with the Aussies’ literal singlet-length “dresses”?

Excellent weekend of #kobudo (weapons) training with Kyoshi Takuma Higashi, 8th Dan instructor. Didn’t go so well for my Sensei’s #nunchaku (that he was given by his Sensei many years ago). Was quite dramatic when I smashed the Bo with them and a piece flew across the room! Oops.
