We've been hunting for a doc collaboration service that is polished, powerful, yet a 'simple' Notion alt that is privacy respecting. After testing many services, discovered Outline! It's pretty epic for internal team use. We set it up on our internal server and haven't been so happy 😀

Ledger just unveiled the Ledger Atom, a security-first phone running LedgerOS based on Android. - Hardware switch that physically cuts cameras/mics - Indicator whenever the secure enclave is in use Ledger says it’s not meant to replace your phone day 1. Details coming soon!

We also asked about last week’s reseller implant attack. Ledger’s working with authorities & the Atom ships with full tamper protection: opening it triggers the enclave. They say this protection is coming to all Ledger devices. Full coverage + interview with their CTO soon.

To anyone in the YouTube comments who asked if Mysterium VPN is worth it, I would start by looking at the basics.

This is why democracies can't stay silent on Apple & Google's App Store chokehold. Let people install apps from anywhere!

Hope everyone's having a wonderful week so far! Just a quick notice that there will be no stream this Friday. We'll be at the Nextcloud conference in Berlin, and should be back on schedule next week. See you soon 👋

Mullvad announced they're phasing out their public encrypted DNS 😥 If you relied on it for maintained malware/tracker/ad filtering, Control D is a solid swap-in. It's best known as a paid service, but the free tier requires no account and offers the exact same filtering.

I just set it up myself, and it's IMO the best swap-in for anyone coming from Mullvad's filtering DNS. - Maintained by @Windscribe - No logs - DoH/DoT/QUIC support - Tons of free filtering options The link I used to pick my new filter list: controld.com/free-dns

controld.comFree DNS Servers - Block Ads, Malware, & More | Control DFree DNS servers from Control D help safeguard your devices from malware, unsecured public wifi, ads, and more. Sign up today and stay safe online.

Quad9 is great too if you just need basic malware filtering, but Control D is a better option if you were using the ad/tracking/NSFW filters from Mullvad.

California exempted Linux from its 2027 age verification law. While this is a good step in the right direction, it still won't solve some of the fundamental concerns with age-gating content. I break down the good, the bad, and the ugly: youtu.be/rTlHMyzLuAM

youtu.beCalifornia Just Exempted Linux From Age VerificationIn 2027, your operating system is going to ask how old you are. California's age verification law (AB 1043) takes effect January 1st, and AB 1856 just carved Linux out of it. But the law still leaves…

I was skeptical of CA's new data broker opt-out tool, so I interviewed its creators to learn more. Did you know your data gets hashed before reaching brokers. One matched identifier deletes your ENTIRE file, even data you never gave them. Watch it now: youtu.be/1t3sueQMNQE
