Summer vacation is over, and I’m leaving my studio in the countryside. Five works have been completed; two will have to wait until next time. Not bad. I already miss it. Beautiful days when birds, bees, and moose matter, and when my hands always have something to do in the garden.

Copenhagen (Køben) A weekend trip to Copenhagen. The whole thing was a bit confusing, but it makes for a good story. Here it is. frank-teksum.no

In Gausdal, the opposite side of the valley is known as Baklia. In Baklia, the sun disappears earlier in the day, the soil is poorer and less fertile, and behind the houses the forest rises steeply and darkly up the hillside before giving way to the mountains above.

Winter is over! A last drawing before summer comes to us all. Standing at 'Månetoppen' on a cold winter day, looking down at the river, the shadows seem faint and scattered in every direction. The water is black beneath a sunless sky—so black that everything around it is reflected in its surface.

‘Witches broom' I have always found these growths on trees beautiful. Some trees are full of them, others have only a few. This one is from a birch tree just up the slope in Gausdal.

Oslo, from one of the top floors of the Munch Museum. You look out over the fjord as the sun sinks toward the horizon, while the ferry leaves the harbor and begins its journey toward Kiel. The sun is soon gone, the year draws to a close, everything dissolves into shadows. The world is beautiful.
