I've been missing for a while. I had an operation that purposely destroyed my balance function and made me lose even more hearing. I had to learn to balance and walk straight again. I thought I'd share some of my menieres and deafness journey to help others www.linkedin.com/posts/makewe...

Well the 4th verse of 'We three Kings of Orient are' takes a dark turn. Sighing, bleeding, dying, sealed in the stone-cold tomb. Great Nativity at Exeter Cathedral though 🌟🦙

It's that time of year when RNID people from across the country travel to meet up for our charity summit. Even as a fully remote org we value meeting up 3 times a year. We're going to share, learn and celebrate....and wear our Christmas jumpers! 🎅🎄

The Foundation has been delighted to open its doors to the eminent artist, Johnny Warrender, who is focusing on capturing images related to war and conflict. This Ugandan drum created the sound of the Morse Code on BBC Radio during WW2, played by the late James Blades.

The charity sector plays a critical role in delivering vital services. A small change (soft opt-in for email marketing) to the Data Bill could increase annual charity donations in the UK by £290 million! That's why I'm a co-signer on a letter to the Secretary of State. dma.org.uk/article/dma-...

JustGiving is now accepting cryptocurrency donations. 😕 Maybe not so strange with ~580 million crypto users worldwide & an estimated £1.5bn in cryptocurrency having been donated to charities [from Giving Block’s 2024 report] 💰 Maybe something to do with not being subject to capital gains tax?

Start the week the right way. Want to make online meetings more accessible and inclusive for those of us who are deaf or have hearing loss? Here's something to help. Mute when not speaking and only one person speaking at a time are the biggies. More tips here 👇 rnid.org.uk/wp-content/u...

New to @bsky.app? We’ve got some etiquette just for you! Turn on the little feature that reminds you to post alt text with your images. Alt text allows blind and partially sighted people to understand what's in your images using screen readers. Without alt text, it just says "image".

I only get a train once a month now. However there are always issues. Today found me sharing an Uber with 3 strangers between Huntingdon and Bedford to get on a different train line.

📢 Aurora Borealis Alert !! 💫 The Northern Lights will be visible across the UK tonight! Lots of clear skies as well. Get out there & take that rubbish photo with your phone

Great for a geo-nerd like me. Brought to you courtesy of the glaciers, rock formations and deltas in USA, Iceland, Argentina, Italy and New Zealand.

Solar activity is the strongest for 23 years. This means continuing increased chance of seeing the Northern Lights for the foreseeable future. Every night could be an Aurora Borealis night.....if the rain ever stops! 🌧️☔

Fact: More than 30% of men are too embarrassed to wear a hearing aid. Chris Packham (fellow Menieres sufferer) on the BBC One Show earlier talking about the perceived stigma of wearing hearing aids. Vanity certainly kept me in silence for many years #deafness #inclusion

A dedicated special zone for the deaf community and Chris Martin signing the first part of 'Something Just Like This'. Whether you like them or not, Coldplay have to be lauded for their inclusivity. Can't imagine the Gallagher brothers doing this.
