I grew up in the San Fernando Valley, and I didn’t really understand where things were located in LA. It occurred to me that because of the heavy smog back then, I couldn’t see buildings and landmarks. www.californiasun.co/photos-when-...

californiasun.coPhotos: When L.A. smog was so bad people suspected a gas attackLess than two years had passed since the attack on Pearl Harbor when a strange mist settled over Los Angeles. People's eyes and throats stung. The haze

The reason I’m commenting on this is because some of the CA governor candidates want to deregulate our air quality laws here. This is irresponsible, backwards thinking. Our health and quality of life is worth a few extra dollars at the gas tank!

I’m glad that two outstanding female coaches will be leading their teams in the NCAA Women’s basketball finals. I’m also wondering if Women’s sports need male coaches.

Over a 30 year period, Donald Trump has filed over 4,000 lawsuits. That breaks down to a lawsuit every 2.5 days. And never once has he sued someone for calling him a p3dophile. He'll sue you for calling him broke, but not for calling him that. Just thought it was curious.

I just watched Project Hail Mary after finishing the book earlier this week. All I can say is: amaze! amaze! amaze! (In other words, it was really good and you should see it).

I kept asking my husband, “Where are all the protest songs like in the 70s?” He woke me up this morning playing this Springsteen song. Well done, Bruce!

Bruce Springsteen@brucespringsteen.net

I wrote this song on Saturday, recorded it yesterday and released it to you today in response to the state terror being visited on the city of Minneapolis. It’s dedicated to the people of Minneapolis, our innocent immigrant neighbors and in memory of Alex Pretti and Renee Good. Stay free

For Halloween, I thought I would post a super creepy picture taken of me when I was a toddler. I think it gives off Poltergeist movie vibes. 👻🎃💀

This is the sort of BS they are texting people. “Ilegal criminals”? Please. Most of the people ICE picks up are hard working residents with families.

I was going to say something about protecting the independence of The Kennedy Center and Smithsonian museums. Then I read Noel Casler’s beautiful words and I knew I had to repost.

“I began my career in live television at the 1993 Kennedy Center Honors. I was twenty-two years old at the time, studying acting in Washington, D.C. and working as a waiter in a barbecue restaurant.” open.substack.com/pub/noelcasl...

As soon as this new updated, lawless ICE hit the street, I was thinking of them as an American Gestapo. The similarities are there.

#ICE and the #Gestapo...they're the same picture

This story about Andry Hernandez Romero breaks my heart. All the men sent to CECOT need to be returned to the US for due process.

I am so glad to hear that Andry was one of the Venezuelans released from CECOT. He will be with his mom and friends there. But, it doesn’t erase months of cruelty and trauma and an uncertain future in Venezuela. I hope he recovers and is able to have the sort of future he dreamed about.

How do undocumented immigrants actually impact crime and the economy? If we want to design effective, lawful, and fair immigration policies, it helps to start with the facts. #news #politics #immigration #investigativejournalism

I was so saddened to hear that the Grand Canyon’s North Rim Lodge was destroyed by a fire. My husband and I got a chance to visit in 2022 and it was beautiful. The whole North Rim area was more peaceful than the South Rim.

This was on the news in LA yesterday and it breaks my heart. Six times this happened and it’s only getting news coverage now? I do believe one was arrested today, but this should’ve happened weeks ago!

Maybe the tattoos we should’ve been worried about weren’t the “gang tattoos” of the immigrants sent to a prison in El Salvador, but the Nazi tattoos on the Secretary of Defense.

I live in an area where the local Cinemark is having an Oscar week. I saw Nickel Boys last night and I was blown away by this movie. The unique POV, the cinematography and the mixture of the historical footage. I hope Oscar buzz will get it more wide-release so more people can see it.

My heart goes out to the US Figure Skating Association because some of their coaches and young athletes lost their lives on the American airline crash in DC last night. Tragically, this is the second major plane crash that has affected the sport. ⛸️💔 1/2

In 1961, a plane crash took the lives of 18 skaters. It took years for the skating community to rebuild amid their grief. It is so sad that something like this has happened again. My thoughts are with the entire community. 😥

Yes. Space exploration has its place, but looking for an alternate planet to inhabit because we’re ruining our own is insane.

So, in 2020 my daughter's house burned in a fire. Nothing can prepare you for the trauma and sense of loss. My heart goes out to those who just lost a home in LA. One tip- if you are rebuilding, hire an architect as soon as possible. Plans take months to be approved, so you'll want a head start.

Hello, I’m new here to Blue Sky. Tonight, it’s really sad watching the fires burning here in SoCal. I’m hoping for safety for all the residents and firefighters who are impacted. This happens far too much with our dry air and high winds!

You are up to date.
