For those freaking out over the Venezuela “Invasion.” Some topical comparisons. Operation Uphold Democracy 1994 in Haiti. 25,000 U.S. troops involved. Venezuela is 33 times larger. I did the math for ya, that would require 825,000 troops. I hear that has gone swimmingly. Oops apologies for sarcasm.

Part 3 Oh ya, that lead to probably thousands of Panamanian deaths, homelessness and billions of infrastructure damage. Biggest differences between these and the current debacle, there was International support.

Part 2 Operation Just Cause 1989 in Panama. 27,000 ‘Murican troops. Panama is 1/10 the size of Venezuela. Perhaps an even closer comparison as it also involved kidnapping. Only about 15,000 American troops in the area, not the 270,000 they probably need.

5) bunker “ceilings” are likely inhomogenuous which deflects or changes the angle of the bombs. All major military societies know this or have studied this. The Chinese have even published scientific papers documenting their research.

On order to bomb Iran it seems the planes had to enter the air space of — at least — Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Spain(?), Egypt(?). Wonder if they got permission. Ah, who am I kidding.

I’ve watched a lot of protests. Most of them live. The provocation almost always comes from the law enforcement side. I love live feeds. Two notable exceptions were Oka (1990) and Ottawa (2022).

Weapons used so far in California: flash-bang grenades, tear gas or related noxious substance and my favorite euphemism “less-than-lethal ammunition. Peppers balls? Rubber bullets? Bean bags? Doesn’t leave much wiggle room for escalation. I’m sure the National Guard won’t go overboard. Right?

Well the Liberals won in Canada. There’s still going to be a lot of pissed off people and that’s the problem — all they had was hate. So my biggest hope is Carney can become a “uniter.” I think he can, but it would require some to actually listen to him.

On another note, I thought it would be close (it was) and was psychology prepared for a Con minority. Unlike the “chicken littles” of the internet sphere, I never thought this would lead to societal collapse. It takes more than one person or event for that to occur.

Kinda interesting that the only place I found the story about the arrested judge by the FBI — for not aiding immigration agents — was the Heard Island Government. The penguins have impeccable sources apparently.
