I’m the face in the crowd. Liberal, progressive, silly, and often obtuse and sarcastic. Negative optimism my specialty. As for growing up, it’s not going to happen. I’m the neighbor you’ve never met…a face-in-the-crowd.

Remember your mom say, “You’d better be careful or your face will freeze like that..”. Of course it was usually if you crossed your eyes. I’m afraid I wasn’t careful and reality froze my face.

You may be surprised.. if you limit screen time, exposure to news and social media you’ll feel better. It’s easier to cope, live a life, and connect with people. Your commitment to resistance remains. It’s just healthier and more focused on action.

It’s too easy to blame the boomers, the Democrats, the MAGA neighbors. Blaming doesn’t do the work. It’s an attempt to absolve the blamer from the responsibility to take action. It’s an unproductive rage. It doesn’t matter whose “fault” it is. Focus on what you can do not who to blame.

THEY ARE NOT POWERLESS TO STOP HIM! Go back to Washington, stand on the steps of the Capitol and demand Johnson and Thune recall the House and Senate, and impeach him. THIS IS HOW IT IS SUPPOSED TO WORK! THERE IS LITERALLY AN INSTRUCTION MANUAL! (It's called the Constitution.)

Republican lawmakers are incensed about Trump's dismissal of Ukraine — and powerless to stop him. That frustration hit a new peak on Monday as they sought to address Trump’s decision to purchase Russian diesel, waive sanctions on Moscow, and potentially stop sharing intelligence with Ukraine.

Representative candidate in Oregon is “advertising” among other stupid quotes… “No girls in men’s spaces.” Seriously. Voting may be an exercise in futilely but by all that is holy vote to prevent people like this from holding office.

Today’s new followers were a handful of sketchy men, self promoters, probable AI and one person’s whose banner pic was the underside of a scrotum. That took a few seconds to identify. I have to take out my eyeballs and wash them now. Not loving humans at the moment.

Meta’s “technical difficulties” impacting No Kings rallies are a call to action. We can’t place all hope on our votes. Have our past votes have any real power? They have and will interfere. IF the votes DO go blue—will Republicans allow the newly elected to take their seats?

Come on! It’s either laugh or cry. I think death by crying is a greater risk than death by laughing. Besides, the world lacks enough Kleenex. Either way we’re not getting out of this squirrely sandbox alive…or is it a squirrely confessional…??

On a serious note, I use AI for a few practical things. It can be used as a tool. BUT I’ve found it can be wrong —REALLY WRONG. Then I ask it why. After it apologizes, it tells you how it came to the wrong conclusion. It’s fascinating. NEVER OUTSOURCE YOUR THINKING OR YOUR CONSCIENCE.

Let it be said that there is no way in this technology-mad world that I’m AI generated. That would break the internet. (The picture is me at the Oscars. I sat next to the Terminator.)

Challenge: Encounter someone dishing out bad customer service or just being difficult? Try to make them smile or try to connect with them on a human level. I do this all the time. Plenty of opportunities and it often works. It also feels good.

Truly believe that things will get worse maybe much worse before they get better. Hope I’m wrong. If not, I’ll be thrilled. If I’m right, no surprises. So I try to live in the now and enjoy the handful of things I can still afford and notice the priceless things that were here all along.

Finally reached the stage where seeking inner peace feels like an act of rebellion. They want us to be miserable and exhausted. Contentment beyond material consumerism would destroy them.

Many Americans are so disgusted with politics they question the power of their vote and whether anyone is deserving or trustworthy I’m inclined to agree. I will vote anyway. It’s the least I can do.

Tip to safeguard sanity: Every time the giant demented human imposter is broadcast hit mute. Same for every Republican anything. Look away! Do what you can. Vote. Then prepare for a very bumpy ride. Be the people that the opposition is not. Therein lies the hope.

What $$$ tip can I share today that can’t be monetized, used by a frugal influencer or not be idiotic? Stay home more —Use less gas and maybe the savings will offset rise in cost. Eat less—Your waistline loves this. Buy only essentials. Amazon etc. hates this as a side bonus. Ta da!

None of my posts ever got as much traction as the post of Mt. Rainier. I’m deeply moved by the fact that a picture of natural beauty stirred such a positive response. The world often feels dark & heavy. It’s so much more.

“We must remember this a kiss is still a kiss, a sigh is just a sigh. The fundamental things apply as time goes by.” It’s so easy to lose perspective in a world that pounds us with social media and chaos. Remember what makes us human. It’s not online.
