💯 I would also add the fact that it often costs more money to design & implement these debt collection programs than they get back in debt repayments. Our neo-liberal status quo loves to keep their proverbial boot on the necks of everyday people who at the end of the day are just trying to survive.
Why does the government insist on trying to recover blood from a stone? If they want to aggressively recover so-called debts from people who've relied on Centrelink payments, they should at least wait until they can actually afford to live. @kristin8x.antipovertycentre.org on the latest debt BS

So dead elderly are of ZERO consequence @albomp.bsky.social ?
Labor has introduced a ‘robo assessment’ algorithm to assess aged people for home care packages. CARE FOR ELDERLY PEOPLE SHOULD NOT BE DECIDED BY AN ALGORITHM! 8 out of 10 QLD health professionals said it underestimated levels of need. It is unacceptable to remove HUMANS from this decision.

"'Social and economic exclusion often becomes civic exclusion – and civic exhaustion' he said. People are too tired and busy trying to keep their heads above water that they don’t have the time or energy to speak up about issues and hold those in power to account." That's sadly the aim. #AusPol
Both my parents are signed up to have their bodies donated to the local medical school when they pass away. My sister and I have the paperwork ready in our email inboxes. I come from a very pragmatic family 😆 www.theguardian.com/wellness/ng-...
If you're in Australia and after an air purifier for a small space, AusClimate have this sweet deal. Good for small rooms. I have a similar sized unit in my bathroom for when I have people over. Actually all their purifiers are currently on sale. ausclimate.com.au

I've been saying this for years. Engage with the medical colleges and with registration boards. Make medical and nursing registration dependent on an education module about COVID and long COVID. If I have to do hand hygiene modules every bloody year, why not one on COVID.
How do we improve healthcare professionals’ understanding of #PEM, #MEcfs and #LongCOVID? Prof @sunsopeningband.bsky.social highlights the need for accessible, expert-led information, engagement with professional societies &stronger public health messaging.

Replying to @barbarapocock.bsky.social
We need a national target of at least 10% public & community housing. The Government needs to directly build houses. We’ve done it before, we can do it again. We need a federal housing department to lead & deliver, not a series of struggling separate silos missing every target.
