They need to do a remake of Maniac Mansion from the NES. It was a really impressive and ambitious game for the era and I think that it could be something amazing in the modern era even as just a point-and-click adventure. It was weird and interesting and I think it has the potential!

I am really rooting for Norway in this game. I feel like overall they're playing as the better skilled team. England seems to be putting quite a bit of hope on laying down and crying to get the refs to help them win. Let's go Norway! Beat the Cowardly Lions! #worldcup

How do I know Chipotle is not serious about the quality of their food? They do not mix the burrito ingredients up before rolling the burrito. Entire bites comprised of just rice?! Animals.

My wife and I love watching Christmas movies throughout December and it has been a huge joy to watch our 4 and 6 yo sons enjoy many of them. Our favorite one by far though, is when we watch National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation on Christmas Eve after putting the boys to bed. We can't wait!

I can't help fixating on the CBS/60 Minutes thing and the fact that we are now forced to watch the truth about our country through media released in other, less fascist countries. It's horrifying how quickly Trump's cult has moved the USA towards North Korea. Unfathomable to find ourselves here.

UFO 50 is more than a year old but it sat on my wishlist for a while before I got it. A few months ago I got it and played through it with one of my best friends and we had such a good time. The games are really incredible with several being so good that they could justify the price alone!

Seriously though, several of the games just use such great mechanics and the overarching meta narrative of this fictional software company with little bit of history hidden in the game descriptions is so great. I just love it so much and you should play it! #UFO50 #indiegames #videogames

When I was in high school, I knew a guy that always ranted about how anyone who liked popular music had terrible taste because he was just SO indie and sophisticated. I get the exact same vibe from many in the video game and ttrpg communities now. Sometimes things are popular because they're fun.

Really hear me out: Presidents get one single 6 year term. Right now they spend the first two years of their first term blaming the last guy and the last two years preparing for campaign/reelection. No chance of reelection and make them use their time wisely. #politics #president #usa #government

Hear me out: Full clean out on Congress. Everyone's out regardless of party. No re-elections. New members have term limits and are not allowed to trade stocks at all. Try to eliminate the lifelong dirty wealth and return them to public servants. #politics #congress #usa #government

We need to flood the internet with the concept that AI is best suited to replaced executives and managers. Think about it, it is terrible at actual work and specialized skills, but executives are so worthless and more often than not make terrible decisions based on biases.

AI could easily replace executives and bosses with statistically analyzing data to make decisions. Added bonus, the execs would then be terrified of it and refuse to use it for all their stupid AI ideas. Then hopefully we can be rid of AI entirely.

When I expressed frustration about the NHL Live service (before cancelling it) they told me I could always watch the games the next day. Because that's what everyone loves about live sports: watching them the next day. Also, the games are still blacked out the next day on ESPN+, so even that sucks.

As a Christian and an American, I despise what Trump is, what he represents, and what he and his cult are doing to my country. These tariffs are idiotic and, while I expect it will make things more difficult for my family, I hope they prove Trump to be the failure he is.

It is now day 2 without power at our house. I came home from a 24hr shift at the fire station to find lines down leading down the road. No power also means no water since we're on a well. Dominion Energy says they're hoping to have it back up tonight. It would be nice if that was true!

I am a fool. I bought the FF7 bundle on steam to: 1. Replay Remake on pc 2. Play the Intermission for the first time 3. Play Rebirth for the first time, which I was VERY excited for. As Remake and Intermission played great, I missed the RTX demand for Rebirth. I am heartbroken that I can't play it.

I also FINALLY started Sea of Stars last night (I know, I know, it's been in my To Play list for SOOOO long). It's just completely awesome. I only managed a bit before I had to get some sleep, but it is so great and I can't wait to play more!

I couldn't be more impressed with Slay the Princess. I am four playthroughs deep after a week or two and I have gotten drastically different results/endings each time. My pacifist playthough made my heart feel the best, but my NOTHING BUT SLAY had the most enjoyable individual moments!

Finally got around to my first playthrough of Slay the Princess today and really enjoyed it! What a cool concept/game it is. I think it's a wonderful example of video games as art.

Ghost of Tsushima was a pure delight. The environments were stunning, to the extent that I often just stopped and looked around in admiration. The juxtaposition of the war-torn island with its natural beauty was amazing. The combat was also impressive while being both challenging and fun.

That said, my absolute favorite part of the game was the story. Watching Jin Sakai choose the future of his people over his own honor was very powerful. Particularly how it came to a head with his relationship with his uncle. 10/10 game for me. Easily became one of my all-time favorites.

Some games in recent years that I have just absolutely enjoyed: - Ghost of Tsushima - No Man's Sky - Cyberpunk 2077 - Backpack Hero - Star Ocean Second Story R - Boomerang Fu - Baulders Gate 3 - Animal Well - Garden Story #games #videogames #gaming

I am replaying FF7Remake in order to have it completed on PC before Rebirth goes live. I am enjoying Remake a lot more the second time. As a huge fan of the original FF7, I think I was expecting something a bit different when it first came out. It's been fun. #games #gaming #FF7R #Remake

I just had an interesting Bluesky error. What I like to call: the Lightning Round. Where every time I tried to move the screen slightly to scroll it would scroll dozens of posts in a second in that direction. It was impressive and disorienting all at once! #bluesky #glitch #bugs

Working for new year's eve at the fire station. I've got a good crew, so it's been a good shift. Glad we all went to bed a bit early so I had a little sleep when that 1:30am trauma call toned out. An hour and a half later I'm climbing into my bunk with the first call of 2025 done.

Lots of talk about realistic v stylized graphics lately and studios lamenting the high cost of realism. My thoughts are that the breakout successes are usually stylized games with a vision. Some of the most played games in recent years have included Palworld, Hades I & II, Metaphor, Valheim, etc.

All games with a stylized look. Many hailed and praised as underdog hits that people didn't see coming. I think that a lot of gamers are making it clear that realistic graphics don't necessarily mean a good game. #gaming #games #videogames #graphics

My wife loves gifts, both giving and receiving. I, accidently, due to the stress and exhaustion of the past fall, bought her several gifts that I didn't remember buying. It seems I was stuck in a loop of forgetting I bought something, then panicking and buying another thing off my list for her.

The end result was beautiful and hilarious. I kept finding boxes i had hidden marked "DO NOT OPEN" and couldn't remember what was in them. My wife then got MANY thoughtful gifts this morning and she felt very loved. I like how my very difficult fall produced something beautiful.

Working today and it's been a pretty great shift so far (only 12 more hours to go!). My wife and sons were able to stop by the fire station and say hi which is always something really special to me. We're so lucky that we live fairly close!

Rewatching episodes of Batman: The Animated Series and I keep thinking it might be the greatest animated show of all time. The musical scores alone in each episode are incredible. The music in the Joker episodes in particular have a beautiful blend of whimsy and weight.

My wife once had a short stint of lactose intolerance with digestive reaults. It took some getting used to: Her: It was a coworker's birthday today so we got her an ice cream cake! Me: D...Did you have some? Her: Oh yeah! I had a huge piece! Me: You know ice cream cake has, uh, dairy? Her: SHIT

I have a good friend that loves MTG and deckbuilding video games. I simply cannot. For some reason, if a game involves cards my brain just glazes over and I do not want to engage. Give me a video game with a skill tree? Hell yeah! Make it out of cards instead? I'm out. My friend just laughs.
