It’s tragic what happened at FSU and I feel for everyone involved and the lives lost. I am genuinely wondering if the current administration is going to look into sending this shooter to El Salvador? Will they hold a trial before even considering it? I think we all know the answer.

Remember during the height of Covid when religious people claimed not being allowed to gather for worship was an attack on their faith? Can they have the same energy for immigration being allowed to go into churches? Seems like that is actually a deterrent for people to attend services.

VA DRP email issued today. Lots of positions are exempt from taking it. There’s nothing in writing saying those that are exempt are safe from RIFs. It does say that those choose not to take it may have their position RIF’d. @duckworth.senate.gov can you get them to provide more information?

Happy I was able to get tickets to the Mayhem ball, but watching the prices skyrocket in moments was ridiculous. It was constant refreshing because tickets wouldn’t be available and then they’d show back up twice as much. Was it just me?

1. I have a call to action for the governors of blue states in the Midwest: as we all know, federal employees are about to be displaced in high numbers which will impact their lives and the individuals they serve on a daily basis.

4. The coalition should support the ability for workers to relocate to other states if willing and have current state and city workers identified to assist in smooth transitions. Now is the time to stand up for our citizens of the Midwest and show the country how great we are!

5. As a social worker, I know it can be extremely difficult to navigate the systems in place and how much having help would allow for people to be successful when leaving the federal government. I am willing to step up if called upon to do so. All that’s needed is to be asked.

2. With such uncertainty, it is important we show the strength of the Midwest and how we support one another. I would like to see Illinois, Wisconsin, Michigan, and Minnesota create a coalition now that will be in place for 2 years to help support the placement of Federal workers displaced.

3. These workers could be placed in state, city, and other roles that highlight the strengths of these workers and allow for our states to show how great we continue to be! This would need to be created quickly to be ready for the additional lay offs.

RFK jr’s cutting of the ACL is the complete opposite of what JFK would have wanted. JFK’s last signed legislation was the Community Mental Health Act. JFK believed in the warmth of care in and from the community. RFK jr continues to spit on the great legacy of JFK. RFK jr will never live up to JFK

You know who has a really tough time getting to offices to discuss things like social security? People in hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living, home bound people, and anyone with advanced age and/or a disability. Many of these people also have difficulty with accessing websites.

The VA does not deny care to veterans even if they have undesirable behaviors. Privatization would overload the healthcare system, cause delays, and lead to some veterans being denied care at private sector facilities. This needs to be stopped.

A few minutes after TikTok went dark, I had the thought of how great it would have been to do CEUs on live for free and let people interact and give since it was monetized. Maybe that can be something I figure out how to do. Renewals for licenses in Illinois are coming up soon.
