Must be missing a trick with @twickets.bsky.social - every time I get an email flagging a ticket available for tonight’s Angine de Poitrine gig in Leeds, it’s gone by the time I’ve clicked through. Are they sending the emails out alphabetically? Are there some really rapid folk out there?

Of course I have paid over the odds for this tape, and primarily so I could get a copy of Danielle Dax’s marvellous Cathouse, but just look at that track listing. Almost perfect late 80s indie fare. Brilliant!

What I love about Western democracy is you can bung a political party £ 36 million earned from criminal activity & most media will continue to point at asylum seekers & migrant care workers with families as the barbarians at the gate we need to defend ourselves from 🙄.

Slightly stressed after a bit of train palaver this morning, but there is something uniquely relaxing about bucketing past huge fields of golden wheat and spotting all the little vignettes of life hidden from day to day view. Seen three rabbits too.

Not a bad couple of weeks for gigs by my standards. The glorious and insane Angine de Poitrine, Pixies with my boys (they used to complain about me playing Doolittle when they were little kids), and a blistering Sugar set making me wonder why they ever split up. Not sure I’ll top that for a while.

Rumour has it that 14000 people were on the wait list for tonight’s Angine de Poitrine gig at the Brudenell. It’s a shame for those that could go cos they absolutely smashed it.

Have brought the wife and youngest to Haworth as both are slightly Bronte obsessed. Have left them to the museum to have a brew and read some Sci-Fi in one of the tearooms. Always found Wuthering Heights a bit lacking in laser weapons and intergalactic flight.
