Finish new baby gift! Baby Bunting and matching Hat. Knitted in Debbie Bliss Cashmerino Astrakhan (made in Italy)… was happy to find this beautiful baby yarn at #AltiereYarn. Knitting is the perfect way to fulfill your creative side and destress from all the stuff happening across the country😞

Sunday dinner -I’ve been making chicken and dumplings for more than 50 years! Pasture raised organic chicken smothered in my homemade gravy made from the broth, sweet carrots, steamed broccoli, topped with cloud soft pillows of dumplings made from scratch. So yummy! #Sundaydinner #madefromscratch

One of my favorite childhood memories was beach tent camping in Carpinteria. When we had kids it was our favorite camping spot with them. We always did a day trip to Solvang to shop needleart supplies and have some Aebleskivers. So glad I bought a pan way back when. Mine is about 45 years old.

Color me happy! This gorgeous bearded iris opened this morning. It’s one of 6 blooms on a 40” stem on just one plant. I have more than 24 different iris growing in the bed and can’t wait for more to bloom! #lovetogarden #beardediris #flowers

Just finished my Poppo Victorian Bear! He’s made from my dad’s ties that I kept when he passed away in 2016. Embroidery and beadwork don’t show so much in front view. Poppo Bear also has a music box inside. #embroidery #beadwork #VictorianBear #handmade #needleartistry

So tired of seeing the face of ugliness plastered everywhere you turn. Got my heart balance back with needles…this time with sewing & embroidery needles! Repurposed jeans that I slimmed down out of - made myself a Boho Bag. Inside has 3 pockets and a keys loop. #embroidery #sewing #repurposedjeans

It was a fun bakefest weekend in my kitchen as I tested my recipe conversions to #glutenfree. Yummy bakery GF options are sparse and grocery store options even less. Got 5 star ratings from my testers, even my chef trained son! Savory bread, pumpkin raspberry bars, donut holes, raspberry cheesecake.

My latest knitting WIP: Hooded chenille bathrobe. I just have the belt to finish! I knit so I won’t unravel. I did a test swatch to see how well it would go through washer on handwash cycle and gentle dry (in garment bag, of course) It came out beautiful. #katknits #lovetoknit

Been focused on upping my distance since healing from broken foot last year - training for the #BaytoBreakers in May Enjoyed a midway coffee break midway in the upper Haight. Hit 12k today and in light showers! Yay for me! Not bad for the far side of my 70s!

Today was quite productive! Well, the aromas wafting from my kitchen were heavenly: banana muffins for breakfast, homemade tacos for supper, pecan toffe buttermilk cake for dessert, and this bread just came out of the oven. GF sourdough is still fermenting for a bake tomorrow. And the laundry!

In training for 12k Bay to Breakers in May: 4.6 mile through park to ocean and back this morning. Loved seeing the bison paddock and was thrilled with Queen Wilamina’s Garden at the windmill. The tulips are spectacular! #walk #GoldenGatePark #tulips

Knitting a swatch is so important before starting a pattern. I went from an U.S. 11 in pattern directions to a 10.5 to a U.S. 10 to get the correct swatch size for this chenille yarn. Tomorrow I can start knitting the hooded, short robe to be a gift for someone special. #lovetoknit ##stressbuster

when my kids were tots, Super Bowl meant fabric shopping, cutting out patterns for new outfits for the kids. Now I just bake! Cherry pie after homemade biscuits, white bean& tomato stew. I also have sourdough and gluten free doughs rising #lovetobake #sourdough #homecooking #glutenfreebread

Knitting has always been one of my favorite stress busters. I’ve been at it a lot this last year. My newest project started tonight Melt the ICE Hat. I’m Using DK Merino Superwash Plymouth Select in Red. Have 2 more promised when this one is finished. Pattern by Needle & Skein on Ravelry.

Christmas cookies! My all time, myst-have cookies are Russian Teacakes from my childhood! I remember shelling, pitting, and finely chopping walnuts for my mom to make these in the 50s when I was a little girl. I switched to making them with pecans in the 70s. Yum!
