We live in the beautiful Finger Lakes of New York farm country. Our family immigrated from England in 1636. Silly Puritans.

I watched Canadian PM Mark Carney give his speech this afternoon on CBC. He was just proper, intelligent, spoke in two languages and he is moving Canada forward with minimal US interaction. Fascinating, I never thought we'd be at this point in history.

Fascinating

“What I’m suggesting Mr President is a military plot to take over the Government.” SEVEN DAYS IN MAY (1964) JFK read the book in 1961 & encouraged Frankenheimer to make the Film believing the scenario entirely possible. Kennedy was assassinated 3 months before its release.

Walz: "What's happening in MN defies belief. News reports simply don't do justice to the level of chaos & disruption & trauma the federal govt is raining down... This long ago stopped being a matter of immigration enforcement. Instead, it's a campaign of organized brutality against the people of MN"

For those of us not in the cult, this is what we hear when anyone from the Trump administration speaks. For the people in the back, this is satire and so well done…

Thank you to the Guild Veterans of King Philips War, Minute Men of the Revolutionary War, war of 1812, the Guilds that gave their lives in the Civil War, and others, including my Father who served in Korea. To all the Guilfords Veterans of King Philips War, the Revolutionary War, War of 1812 et al.

Often it is the little things that make me smile with delight. So our hibiscus 🌺 bush that we have here at Schuyler Hospital, of which I water appropriately, has bloomed a flower. Now this bush hasn’t flowered since I don’t know when. Something is afoot.

Ship BNSF where possible.

Trump: "We're gonna have safe cities again. We're gonna be going to Chicago pretty soon because a friend of mine, great guy, head of the Union Pacific, said, 'Sir, you have to save Chicago. It's going bad."

Saw so many stars overnight in our sky while watching meteorites. I'm sure many are galaxies. Amazing! So why are we all fighting for?

So why do we fight each other anyway? Look at the vastness of space. And this is just a small section.

Take a moment to take this in: This incredible image from the JWST reveals a huge number of galaxies, each home to billions of stars... Credit: ESA/Webb, NASA & CSA, G. Gozaliasl, A. Koekemoer, M. Franco, the COSMOS-Web team, N. Bartmann (ESA/Webb)

Quite right.

"Our planet is a lonely speck in the great enveloping cosmic dark. In our obscurity, in all this vastness, there is no hint that help will come from elsewhere to save us from ourselves. The Earth is the only world known so far to harbor life." - Carl Sagan

Is it wrong that I have become pretty much a non-fiction reader? I've tried "Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy", "Godbody" by Ted Sturgeon and a couple others. But, I have a huge library of railroad non-fiction and Carl Sagan and travel books. And so it goes...

GOP Rep. Nick Langworthy: "We have a free flow of ideas and thoughts and open voices in our conference. There is no fear of retribution or authoritarian-style leadership like they had under Pelosi. We have a much better society."

In 1659, the the Puritans in Massachusetts enacted a law that declared that Christmas was sacrilege and exchanging of gifts, greetings, and wearing fine clothing on that day was Satanic. Anyone caught celebrating was fined 5 shillings. (About 5 days wages.) The "War on Christmas" was an inside job.
